Today's weather;
Samui at last woke up with electricity still running (at least near my house where electricity was cut off over for almost 56 hrs), no rain pouring down, the airport open and the ferries running again. It's still cloudy and roads are flooded and some bits and pieces of rain may come down but it looks like the worst is over. Current temp at 7am is 24C and 'only' 95mm of rain came down over the last 24 hrs.
I'm starting to relax!
On Koh Tao the evacuation of stranded tourists that started yesterday will continue today with thanks to the Royal Thai Navy. 3 seriously ill people from Koh Phangan hospital were evacuated by helicopter.
Yesterday saw still lots of rain but the airport opened up and the ferries started running again and electricity came back on again. Max temp reached only 23.9C
I'm receiving many emails and messages on my blog and I will try to answer them all but it will be later today. Everybody planning a holiday around 8th April or later, you should be fine although the cleaning up activities may still be in process.
Don't forget to hit the donations buttons, with over 5000 visits per day currently, somebody out there must think that this blog is useful, show your appreciation by hitting my beer money or donation buttons here! Thanks!
Yesterday saw an almost complete dry day with mini bursts of sunshine occasionally. Max temp reached 30C
The landslide in Krabi was not as devastating as initially mentioned, only one instead of 7 villages were affected and despite 10 bodies being recovered, only around a 100 people are missing and not 1000. However, landslides are now reported in 4 provinces, including Phuket.

Hello Camille,
Thank You for your blog it is Amazing and keeps us posted on a regular basis. We fly into Samui on 4th April and we will be staying at the Nora Chaweng Hotel. From your point of view what do you think Chaweng will be like by then? Will we still be able to enjoy our holiday? Thank You Nyomi
Hi Nyomi,
Chaweng and Samui will be in full clean up mode by than but the Nora should be fine, it's in the higher parts of Chaweng.
Thank you for all your updates. We need to get to Samui airport from Lamai this early afternoon. Are the roads still passable by taxi?
- Worried
Hi, thanks so much for this information - best source I've found. We fly into Koh Samui on 7 April. Do you know if the Samui First House hotel is OK? According to the website it's "located at the head of Chaweng Yai Beach quiet corner but not far from the Chaweng Center area the best location that the visitors could relax both Chaweng Yai and most popular Chaweng Noi Beach. "
Haven't been able to get through to the hotel so far. I know the floods should have gone by the end of next week, but the question is whether the hotel is flood damaged and closed or not.
Thanks, Mark.
Thanks so much for the information, I'll be keeping a close eye on your blog as our vacation to Koh Samui draws near in May.
Hi Camille,
I'm so glad I found your blog. Me & Hubs and our 9mth old daughter are due to fly in on 1st Apr - that's tmrw night. We'll be staying at Chaweng regent.
Do you think it safe to travel there now with a baby or should we reschedule?
thanks so much,
Wee
Hi Camille,
So glad to have found your blog. Me & Hubs are booked to fly there with our 9mth old baby tmrw (1st Apr) and we'll be staying at the Chaweng Regent.
In your opinion, is it safe to go there or should we reschedule?
thanks
Wee
Hi Camille,
I'd like to aks you some questions.
We have plans to come over on the 10th of april and stay at the The Kala Resort Koh Samui for 5 or 6 nights.
Are there any problems at this hotel?
Are there any problems to get there?
Do you thing we can drive a round by then on a scooter?
Thank you
Robbin
Hi
Firstly i think it is really a credit what you are doing and am looking for the donate button but cant seem to find it.
i know we should be fine but i am coming early may staying at the centara and kc over water villas, it looked liked both of these have been damaged. is this the case?? my concern is also the roads, do they get fixed quickly as it is important for all the locals there.
thanks
Joe
sawasdee ka
hope eveything can fix and beautiful again for songkran. i have some who ask me from my blog coming for that to cancel or not so for me i will put today twitter and link to come here and mabey hope they come and donate to you too.
http://jaa4u.blogspot.com
Hi Joe,
Thanks for checking in and to help you out, the donate button is about in the middle of the page left hand or on the bottom.
The Centara itself is not affected since it's on relative high ground however the road in front of the resort is always flooded because the water has nowhere to go, the way to the ocean is blocked by walls and it's also one of the lowest points of the beach road!
KC Villa looks in a bad shape though!
Dear Jaa,
Thanks for checking in! Much appreciated and keep up the good work on your blog! I enjoy reading it since a while.
Hi worried,
Not too sure if you will be able to make it to Lamai, some roads are blocked off.
Hi Mark,
Samui First House is on very high grounds and should be ok.
Hi Camille We are staying at the Amari Palm Reef in about 2 weeks, has that been damaged by the recent floods and do you know the longer term forecast for the weather- most sites only show for the next 5 days!!! Many thanks Stephanie
Hello Camille,
Great blog. Thanks for making information available.
As our flight to Samui was cancelled yesterday we consider to fly next Saturday the 2nd of April.
We are heading for Koh Pah Ngan. Do you know if the road from the airport to the ferries is okay and if on Koh Pah Ngan we can make it to Had Rin (I think the boat arrives at Thong Sala)?
Thanks so much for any answers.
Jeroen
Hi.. one more vote of thanks for a very userful blog! I am due to fly in on Monday, and will need to travel between lamai and maenam.. do you know if the road is /will be passable?
thanks
Hi Camille We are staying at The Amari Palm Reef in the next 2 weeks , has that been damaged by the recent floods and do you know the longer term weather forecast as most sites only give the next 5 days!! Thanks Stephanie
Hi Camille,
You blog has been a life saver for me and I have been checking it religiously for the past few days. I also have a friend of mine who was trapped in his store for 16 hours with no food at one stage and I hadn't heard from him so your blog was what was keeping me updated. He's fine thankfully!
My partner and I are meant to be flying into Samui on the 20th of April and we are staying at The Amari Palm Reef at Chaweng. I remember from last time I stayed there it's right down one end so I was wondering if you knew whether the Amari has been affected?
Also, in terms of post flood disease/virus etc. Do you have any idea on what they're predicting regarding this? Are they expecting any serious viruses etc? I know after the floods in QLD, Australia they said there was a risk of disease/viruses etc. So any thoughts on this?
Do you think Koh Phangan will be okay by the 20th also?
Thanks so much! Sarah
Hey there!
Have plans to travel tomorrow (april 1st) to Samui. Staying in Bophut where apparently the electricity is on in the hotel.....is the weather clearing, or is it totally ridiculous of my husband and I to go?? Just so late to cancel, and we've paid for the whole trip already! Really feeling for the all the people of Samui. :(
Hi Camille!
Thanx so so much for this blog and your everyday updates! We will arrive to Samui on the 6th of April and thanx to your blog I´ve finally been able to relax a little bit about our vist to the lovley Samui :). I want to donate, and I found the button BUT its in thai?! No worries though I just have to concentrate some more ;).
Do you have any info about Seascape resort on Chaweng? It´s in the "middle" of Chaweng. I´ve e-mailed but have not receved any answer...
//Sari & family from Sweden
Hi Camille,
All credit to you! We are a family of four hoping to be in Samui on the 17th April. We are staying at the Sala. What's the situation down there?
MK
Hi Camille.
Thank you for a great blog, it has been really usefull this days:o)
We are coming to Koh Samui on 5 april an we are suppose to stay at Ark beach resort. Do you know if the hotel is flood damaged?
BR
Lene
Thanks for your blog.. it is very helpful!
We have flights to Koh Samui next saturday, April 2, but after these floods, and as we have an one year old baby, we are thinking about changing the destination...
Is the weather and conditions better now for a pleasant holiday there or is it better to go there in another time?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Joana
I don't know what people who are travelling in late April/early May are worrying about! It will all be fine by then. I am flying into Bangkok on the 4th of April and I'm going to stay there for a few days then head down to Samui, may not be exactly what I was expecting (I have a house on Koh Tao so originally planned to go there) luckily it's built on pillars so there is no damage! I personally would like to go there and help the clean up although with all the tourists being evacuacted I'm not sure this is such a good idea. I look forward to reading your blog daily!
Hello Camille,
Thank You for your blog it is wonderful and keeps us informed of what's happening. Please can you let us know how the Tango Beach is and if it's still safe to visit as we are coming with our kids (8 & 11)? Thanks so much. Susannah
Hi Camile,
We are just about to board at London to Koh Samui, we are staying at Chaba resort are there any local resturants/bars open or should and would we have a good time or should we try to divert, we are a day away?
Any info would be very gratefully received!
Hi Camille,
First of all this blog is a saviour for getting information. We're in Phuket at the moment and origionally were to fly to Samui yesterday. We've moved it to next Monday (4th) and are trying to work out our plans. Our plan was to head to Lamai by we haven't booked any accommodation.
Is there any place or areas of Lamai or Chaweng that you'd recommend given the lovely weather of the last few days. We're looking for something not too pricy, maybe around 1000-1500 Baht a night.
Keep up your fantastically useful blog.
Thanks,
Justin
Hi Camille,
Firstly thanks for writting such a helpful and well updated blog. It is extermely useful, especially now given the current circumstances. It's great to have someone with such direct local knowledge to talk to.
we are arriving into Samui on the 8th April and are staying at the Samui Seascape beach resort. http://www.seascapebeachresort.com/
Do you know if this hotel has been badly affected? We are very concerned as it is right on the seafront and are worried that when we arrive next week our rooms will be ruined.
On another note, do you think Samui will be suitable for tourists by the 8th? i.e will the beaches be clean, bars open and more importantly will we be getting in the way of the clean up process?
Cheers,
Mark
Hello Camille,
I fly into Samui on the 2nd April and will be staying at the Bophut Resort & Spa. What do you think Bophut Resort & Spa will be like by then? Will we still be able to enjoy our holiday? Thank you for this blog as it is the only clear information that is up to date that i've been able to find. Thank You Natasha
Hi Camille,
Thanks for keeping us more up to date than the news reports. I'm about to leave for Ko Sumi tomorrow. I'm staying on Mae Nam Beach at the New Lapaz Villa and Resort. Do you think I should still come. The weather doesn't sound promising.
Thanks for your help,
Em
Hi Wee,
My advise is to reschedule, Samui is a mess right now and in dire needs for food supplies. If you have the option to reschedule, go for it!
Andy,
May should be no problem at all!
Hi Robbin,
Unfortunately I have no information on this hotel. Most of the roads should be passable by then, most of the roads are passable already, but some parts are still flooded, which should be gone in a few days time.
Hi Stephanie,
Flying into Samui in two weeks time should be fine. There will be repair works and clean up (possibly)going on in full swing though.
Hi Jroen,
Most people are trying to get off the islands, in my opinion you're better off not travelling to Phangan and give it a bit more time to recover before heading over. No idea about the road conditions.
David,
Roads between Lamai and Maenam are most likely passable. From Chaweng to Lamai definitely passable, possibly the Bophud traffic light area is still flooded.
Hi Stephanie,
In two weeks time a lot of clean up work will have been completed but there will be plenty of rebuilding be in process. The Amari should be operational within two weeks.
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your support! I do expect the Amari to be operational in two weeks time but you raise some good questions regading viruses etc. The Thai powers that be will probably deny that there may be any danger at all and I couldn't tell what the situation will be. It's a breeding heaven for mosquito's all this water, that's for sure.
Some parts of Bophud are notorious flood areas but if your hotel has electricity than that's a plus.
Right now Samui is announced a disaster area so my advice would be not to go. The weather may be sunny over the next days but there won't be much to do besides grasping at the damage.
Hi Sari,
Thanks for the support and the donation! Seems like you looked hard enough!
Right now I don't have any info on Seascape. I expect them to be overwhelmed with emails and the overall situation right now.
Hi MK,
Right now it's not very good although it's starting to look better again. Come in two weeks time and the overall situation should have improved although some clean up work and especially repair work should be in full swing. The weather should be fine again!
Hi Lene,
The Ark bar is sheltered at the ocean side by the reef and it's road location is at relative high grounds in Chaweng so I would expect them to be fine.
Hi Joana,
If you have the option I would look into a different location, especially with a small child/baby.
Hi Lauren,
It's refreshing to see some common sense! Why not go to Koh tao and help out, I'm sure it will be appreciated!
Good luck and thanks for checking in!
Hi Susannah,
Unfortunately I don't have any updates on Tango Beach. Can you tell me where that is, since I also never heard of it!!
Hi Tony,
Apparently some restaurants around the island are open but I don't know exactly which ones and where!
Hi Justin,
Good move to delay a bit. Right now it's difficult to recommend a hotel since I'm not sure about each individual hotels situation. My advise is just to go down and check locally, most hotels will be happy with any business they can get if they don't have damage done to them.
Hi Camille
This is where Tango Beach is:
119 Moo 2, Bophut, Suratthani, Chaweng
Any info you can provide is great!
Keep up the good work. Susannah.
Hi Camille,
I'm freaking out. I'm arriving on saturday to Ko Sumi and I'm stay at Mae Nam Beach at the New Lapaz Villa and Resort. With the recent weather and weather reports I'm thinking I should cut my losses.
What do you think? Help!
Em
Hi Mark,
Unfortunately I have no news on the Seascape hotel but bars and restaurants will be open.
No idea if you would be in the way of clean up work, I doubt it to be honest.
Hi Natasha,
Unfortunately I don't have information about individual hotels but there will be plenty of clean up and repair work going on all over the place within the next week or two.
Hi Em,
Right now and the next few days you will be travelling into an area that's been officially called a disaster area, if you can deal with that than go ahead. The New Lapaz is on high ground and should be fine and the weather forecast is very good for next week.!
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. Let just say I'm a little freaked out. I think I'm going to take the risk and come. I might need to bring a broom and an umbrella, but this Aussie can survive anything! Thanks for the support and if I meet you I will have to buy you a drink!
Em
Hi Susannah,
Thanks for the address but unfortunately does the Thai address system not work in the same as in the Western world and I'm afraid I still don't know where Tango beach is located. Any idea of a name of hotel or such nearby? That would help me more. Sorry................
Hi Em,
That's the spirit! I still need to meet an Aussi who can't deal with a situation ;-)
Enjoy your stay, despite the circumstances. It may not be what you expected and hoped for but it will be a once in a lifetime experience!
Hi Camille, just want to say that Seascape Beach resort at Chaweng Beach is ok and our booking is in order when we arrive on wednesday :)
And also I will buy you a drink if we meet during our stay!
I´m a mother, wife and nurse so if I can do something to help just say my name ;)
//Sari
Hi Sari,
Good to hear that everything is fine!
Enjoy your stay and I'll remember your many disguises or capabilities ;-)
HI Camille, your blog has been hugely helpful - may thanks! i'm getting no response from a friend on the island - are mobile networks down? I'm due to fly to Samui tonight landing at 7pm and stay at absolute sanctuary just north of Chaweng - do you think it's a 'go'?
Thank you again,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Networks aren't down, but electricity was out on many parts of the island, maybe the battery is just dead.
The airport is open so getting in is no problem.
Hi
I know you are probably having heaps of people emailing you and asking the same question. I am travelling to Koh Samui on the 8th for my honeymoon we have Bandara resort booked. My question is is it still there LOL we are also going to Koh Phangan is that still there too?
Kimberley
Hi Kimberley,
Both are definitely still there and I'm sure that the Bandari will do it's uttermost best to make it a memorable event. The weather forecasts are sunny and hot for the 7 days!
Hi Camille
Your updates are really helpful! With regards to Koh Samui, we are due to visit at the start of June. Do you think things will be back to normal by then? I know it seems such a long way off but I want to be prepared for an alternative!!!
Hope you're safe and well.
Hi Annika,
By June everything is just going to be very fine!
Hi Camille,
I found your blogg and email address when I made a google search on Koh Samui Weather.
Me and my family booked an airticket from Sweden to Koh Samui (via Bangkok) back in September. Arrival date is 16th April/Departure 30th April.
Would you recommend us to change our route from Bangkok to somewhere else due to the “rain disaster”? We had plans to visit Koh Phangan and Koh Tao also.
Where would you recommend us to go?
We like the sun, swimming and beautiful nature.
Thank you so much for your advice! I feel quite dejected right now.
Kind Regards,
Ulrika
Hi Ulrika,
By mid April things should be good enough again to travel around safely and enjoy the suns.
Hi my name is Susan
I am wondering if it is ok or suggested to go to Samui on April 2nd We booked the flight n hotel already However the situation there now doesnt seem Good n heard there is also a food shortage Do u think we should cancel or postpone the trip ??
And thank u for sharing the weather with us
Hi Susan,
The weather prediction for the next 7 days is very good, airport is open and ferries are running.
It will take a few days to fix everything but the worst is over now.
You may be restricted getting around but food stocks should be replenished soon.
If you can cancel or change without repercussions, do it, otherwise just come over and make the best out of it!
Hi,
Your blog has been really helpful. I am due to arrive in Koh Samui and stay at Chewang regent hotel on Friday night. What do you think? Should i go?
Please advise asap - i leave for the airport in about 8 hours!!
Georgina
Sorry for the late reply Georgina, hope you made the right decision.
Dear Mr. Lemmens
I’m sorry to bother you.
Because my boyfriend and I will go to Koh Samui tomorrow.
I’m very worry about the weather of Samui.
Could you tell me the weather of Samui is still bad right now?
Thank you again.
Best regards,
Mindy
Hi Mindy,
Right now things are turning for the better and the weather forecasts are sunny. Samui is not at it's prettiest right now, unfortunately.
Hi,
we are coming to samui on 6th Apr. Do you reckon all the infrastructure, debris etc will be cleared or restored n can u provide reliable source of wheather forecast from 6th-12th Apr or what is ur call on the weather for above-mentioned dates. Pls revert soonest so we can adjust our flt sched.
Tks.
rgds,
Berry
Hi Berry,
Clean up and repair work will be in full swing, if all will be restored within in a week, no way! If you will be able to enjoy Samui, probably, the forecasts for the next 7 days are really good and I expect the same for the second April week.
Hello Camille - it's Susannah again!! Tango Beach is the northern end on Chewand Beach and is close to: The Briza Beach, Moon Light Hotel, Le Chablis, Your Place Resort. Sory to be a pain! Thanks again, Susannah.
Hi Camille,
Thank you so much for taking your time to send me an answer!
Now I feel much better!
Kind Regards,
Ulrika
Hi Ulrika,
You’re welcome and I hope things work out just fine!
Hi Camille
I have plan on my trip to koh samui end of the month. Referring to the news I saw here, it looks pretty serious and a lot of damages caused by the flood. Do you think the weather will gets better and will be safe to come at the end of the month? I see a lot of road damaged already!
By the end of the month things should be just fine!
Really enjoyed to read your blog, very many usefull informations. But really sad to read about the condition of your land at the moment.
We are going to Koh Samui next week - I know that you're not able to predict the weather, but do you haev any idea about the forecast??
And do you know if there are any other places near by where the sun is shining?? like Hua Hin??
We really want to go, but are not interested to stay in the Hotel for 2 weeks because of rain:-(
Hope you will reply me.
Best regards Majken
The forecast for the next 7 days is sunny and I expect the 2nd week of April also to be good!
Dear Camille,
Firstly I would like to thank you for your blog.
Your information and picture are very helpful (although, I wish for a better reason in my case).
I’ve made a small donation to show my appreciation!
By the way, your donate button is quite hard to find!!!
Please put it at the top so us visiters can donate easier! ; )
Thanks for the support Oliver! Much appreciated!
Dear Camille,
I am following your blog since last week because we have planned 10 days in Koh Samui from Saturday afternoon but we are very upset about the weather conditions and the floodings.
Do you think that we should cancel our holidays? is the weather getting better?
Are there still a lot of damages in the streets and hotels ?
Thank you very very much for your reply,
Best regards,
Eglantine
Hi Eglantine,
The weather forecast is going to be really good for the next 7 days but I would expect some infrastructure damage but repair and clean up work should be in full swing.
hello.
This blog gives a lot of information. It looks terrible.
We have planned to stay in muang resort and spa on chaweng from april14.
Do you know anything about this hotell, and how long do you think it will take to clear up, and get the roads better?
Turid
Hi Turid,
In two weeks time a lot of clean up and repair work will have been done. Unfortunately I don't have any updates on the Muang Resort.
Hi Camille
Sorry to bother you, I hope everything is starting to get better with you.
I started reqading your blog to get a better idea of the weather for Koh Samui in July as I would like to book my honeymoon there, but since the floods I have been using it for updates on the floods. I hope eveything is ok there. I was wondering whether due to the damage caused by the flooding whether it would be still ok to go on honeymoon to Koh Samui, I am looking at staying at the SALA Samui Hotel. Any thought would be welcome.
Thanks and good luck with everything.
Regards
David
Hi David,
By July Samui will be totally fine again, I wouldn't worry too much about coming to Samui in that time frame!
Thank you very much indeed!
I'm sure it will all be fine!
Roger
Hi Susanna,
Thanks, I didn't know that area or beach was named or called tango Beach, never too old learn!
The general area is partly on a hill (The Briza) and partly on lower grounds (Le Chablis, Your Place), clean up wil, be in full swing there soon.
Hi Camille,
I found your blog by searching for samui news.
Me and my gf are planning to visit samui for the first time from april 4 - 9. We plan to stay at mae nam beach. Altough there are a lot of news about chaweng being closed totally, I couldn't find anything about mae nam. I will however call the hotel upfront to check but I thought maybe you have some kind of news or advice to us.
Many thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
Stefan & Kathrin
Thank you Camille you are a STAR !!
Hi Stefan,
Maenam had some serious flooding but it kind of depended where you were. In a few days I would expect the water to have receded and the weather forecasts are predicting sunshine. Samui may not be at it's prettiest though!
You're welcome Susannah.
Hi Camille,
Thank you so much for your reply.
In fact I called the hotel this morning (evening for you) and they told me that it was still raining and that the weather will not be so good in the next days.
Therefore we cancelled our stay in Koh Samui and hope to come there in a few months.
best regards,
Eglantine
Hi Eglantine,
The rain should be finished by tomorrow and the rain coming down today is a drizzle compared to last week but you may have done the right thing and I hope you enjoy your stay in a couple of months!
Camille! Thank you SO much for your informative blog, you have been my lifeline this week, when my parents have been in Chaweng. This evening they go to Bangkok and then further to Sweden. Thank you again! Hugs Pernilla
Hi Pernilla,
Glad I could be of help and good to know that your parents are safe and on their way home again!
Hi Camille
Thank you so much for your excellent ann informative blog - I am glad you and your family are ok.
I am due to fly to Thailand on 25 April for a 16 day visit and had intended on heading for Ko Phangan where I spent 6 months working in 2007 - I have not been able to get in touch with anyone at the animal shelter where I worked and I wonder if I would be correct in thinking it has been struck as badly as Samui and Ko Tao?
Do you think that the islands will be able to bve visitied in three weeks time or is the damage so bad that it will be not wise for visitors to descend?
Keep up the excellent work - your blog is a real credit.
Kind regards
Louise
Hi Louise,
Yes, I'm afraid that KP is hit pretty hard as well, however in 3 weeks time most things should be fine again and you should be able to travel freely!
Hi Camille,
Was looking at your lovely blog, in particular the recent floods on samui, can you tell me the name of the music on the video MAENAM to BANGPO please.
Many thanks
Robert
Robert,
No idea mate, check out the original You Tube vdo and ask the guy who put it on You Tube!
Camille,
Thanks for the info. We have canceled our trip and looking to reschedule for next Nov-Dec. Any suggestions on best time to come over? I'm looking for good dive spots as well...thanks again.
Eric
Hi Eric,
Probably a good decision considering the current circumstances. Please check my blog's archives, halfway down the page, left side, it covers the last 4 years. November-December is the rainy season on Koh Samui, the current rain is believe it or not, totally out of season, it should be very, very dry and hot right now!
Hello, I have found your blog very useful, thank you!
I don't suppose you know whether the area on Koh Samui around Tailing Ngam has been affected badly by the floods?
There really isn't much information available in the UK and we are due to travel a week today.
It would be a great help if you have any information for that area.
Thank you
Daisy
Hi Daisy,
All of Samui has been affected!
Hi Camille
Thanks for replying, we're looking forward to our trip hugely - family reunion!
Stay safe.
Enjoy Annika!
Dear Camille
Thank you for your reply.
So glad to hear the weather will be sunny.
We will still go to Samui tomorrow anyway.
Thank you again.
Best regards,
Mindy
Hi Mindy,
Hope you will enjoy it!
hi camile,
i should arrive on 4th staying at rich resort/swing bar, wonder if this is affected by the flood.
how is the sea?
on the 5th i will travel to samahita yoga retreat. (55/20-24 Moo 4 Koh Samui, Surat Thani 84140) wonder if you know this place? and would traveling from rich resort to samahita be difficult?
thanks
Hi Camille,
I have been viewing your blog for a few years now, thanks for keeping everybody updated on the current situation.
We are due to come to Samui at the end of April this will be are 2nd attempt to come to Samui the first attempt was cancelled due to Bangkok airport being full of protestors a couple of years back, starting to feel jinxed!
We are booked in at the Baan Haad Nagam in Chaweng and the Hansar in Bophut do you know if these hotels have been been badly affected by the floods?
If you could let us know anthing that would be great.
Many thanks
Jason - UK
Hi Camille
You wrote today "The weather forecast is going to be really good for the next 7 days"
Is this right? I found only news saying still little bit raining, not much sun for next 7 days. Did you mean no more heavy rain or even sun?
Just making sure, were waiting in bangkok to see whats the weather would be like and where to spend the vacation.
Thank you very much, good luck
Richard
However, please keep in mind that I do NOT have lists of individual hotels and their current state. If I stumble over one or hear about one I will post it here on my blog.
-If you're planning to visit Koh Samui within a week or so, expect a damaged island with a lot of clean up and repair work going on. I'm sure that hotels that aren't affected will do their uttermost best to accommodate you but Samui won't be at it's prettiest!
-If you're planning to visit Samui around mid April, I would expect a lot of damage and debris been taken care of and your visit should be fine.
-Anybody planning on visiting towards the end of April or early May or even later, don't worry. Do not reschedule for November, that's usually Samui's rainy season!
-The weather forecast for the next 7 days is good, with plenty of sunshine, no wind and just a few occasional drops of rain. I can only hope that the weather will be as it usually is during April and that's HOT!
-Due to the overwhelming amount of mails and messages, I won't be able to answer each individual mail or message anymore at the rate they're coming in, please accept my apologies for that but please read the above, it should answer 99% of all questions! Questions out of the ordinary I will definitely answer.
Hi Carmille,
tks for ur prompt reply. Hope u are doing fine and God bless u and family.
brgds,

My daughter & friend are on their way to Koh Samui from Phuket today. Will they be able to fly in & stay at the Samui Resotel. I haven't heard from them for a couple of days while they were on Phi Phi Island. Many thanks from a worried mother
Dear worried mother,
Right now I don't know if flights between Phuket and Samui have resumed, I know that the last few days only flights between Bangkok and Samui were operating.
