Sunday morning, once again time for the Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 10th February – 16th February 2020. The Sunday morning long slow distance run is in the bag. The sun is out and the temperature is rising!
Currently, at 11am it is already 29C and the quicksilver is rising. Get ready for a hot day and have sun lotion at hand.

A begging monkey at Big Buddha on Koh Samui. Right next to the Big Buddha statue. If you face the statue, to the left, almost behind the statue.

Last week saw a nice week around the island. Plenty of sunshine and just two days with some isolated drops of rain. Only last Sunday saw some real rain. The maximum temperature got up to 31C. On the other hand, the minimum temperature got stuck at 23C.

It was also my first visit ever to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. Firstly, a PADI meeting was in the cards. Secondly, I took my wife and our youngest daughter along. Thirdly, we scheduled a leisure day to explore some parts of the city.
To top it off, we had very cheap flights from Surat Thani airport and a nice suite near the city center.
In short, we enjoyed Kuala Lumpur a lot and look forward going back and explore more. Especially some of the food options!

Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at night. A must see when in town. A very enjoyable city. Hope to be back sooner than later.

For next week plenty of blue skies and sunshine are predicted and expected. However, Tuesday may see some hard rain and Wednesday may still see a shower or two or three. Next weekend we may see some rain again.
Enjoy the island when you're here. It's quiet and enjoyable, due to the coronavirus. Don't be put off, all is fine and it's business as usual. Just a lot less people around to enjoy it!

Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break.

If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course.

Join me in a private dive trip with yours sincerely!

You may also opt for a very special dinner experience at The Thai Experience. Behind closed doors, reservation only and a very enjoyable and well worthwhile way of spending an evening on Samui. Authentic Thai food and a great atmosphere. Can highly recommend this experience.

Contact me for more detailed information on any of the options mentioned.

Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 17th September, 2013

Today's weather;

Koh Samui has grey overcast to show for this morning. Looks like the blue bit has gone for a short break. Current temp at 7am is 27C

Don't forget to check out the first Samui Green Market this coming Sunday.

Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand

Remnants of last weeks big meeting on the island, flags of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand blowing in the wind along the road

Yesterday saw a fairly nice morning with an occasional blue ray but the afternoon was nice when the sky opened up and a bit more sun broke through. The early evening, around 8pm we had a thunder and light show with some rain though. Max temp reached 33.9C

The forecast looks pretty grim from Thursday to Saturday with strong wind and rain but come Monday it should be a lot nicer again.

Big meeting on the island

After getting back home yesterday afternoon, I was busy running around the island, organizing things for my yearly visa renewal. Including a visit to the Immigration office in Nathon.

On an online forum I had already seen that there was a regular closing up of roads to give way to small convoys. Today it became very clear what was going, 3 different meeting (the way I understand it) are taking place on Koh Samui. Around the island you can see three flags stuck together; Malaysia, Indonesia and the Thailand flag. Well, with this information and the picture above, maybe you can make sense out of what is exactly going on ;-)

Either way, they had their last day of meetings today.
