It's sunny and cloudy again around Koh Samui and the worst is over, for the time being at least! The depression that influenced both coastal sides of Thailand over the last three days is now on it's way to India! Current temp at 7am is 25.4
Here in Khao Lak it's cloudy but it looks like the sun may break through later today. Current temp at 7am is 24.3C

Yesterday saw plenty of rain in both Samui and Khao Lak, it wasn't non stop rain but rather on and off all day long. Max temp on Samui reached 29C with another 88mm of rain that come down yesterday around Koh Samui and 'only' 28mm in Khao Lak.

The forecast looks good for the next couple of days with potentially a couple of sunny days ahead of us, however, come next weekend, a bit more wind, nothing too serious though and plenty of rain might come Samui ways.

Thanks for all the help on the weather updates...do you think we should skip Koh Samui? (were thinking of arriving in couple of days) and go somewhere else instead?
Thank you!!!
Hard to say if you should skip it. Friday and Saturday show rain but at the moment for the rest it looks good.
thank you!
Hi! Is there any risk of bad weather in late December? I was also wondering if you thought it safe to leave two girls 4-7 with a local nanny at our villa. Any recommendations for a nanny?
Alan
Hi Alan,
There's always the odd chance of bad weather during late December but generally speaking, the conditions should have improved and although you can have rain, it should not be non stop for days like during the monsoon.
Try this nanny service , they are reliable and that should work out well and allow you to leave the villa when needed.
