Welcome to May 2012

Welcome to May 2012

May is usually a very nice month on Koh Samui, with plenty of sunshine and nice and warm days but also with some rain. The rain tends to be short-ish though and can have a nice cooling effect after or during a day of sunshine. The last 5 recorded May's on my blog show this kind of weather pattern with slight variations to the theme!

This month will also see Coronation day or วันฉัตรมงคล (Wan Chattra Mongkhon) on May 5th, which commemorates the coronation of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1950.

May 9th welcomes the Royal ploughing ceremony to mark the traditional beginning of the rice-growing season.

I'm looking forward to a nice and sunny May 2012!

In the meantime, don't forget to use my Koh Samui hotel recommendation blog and my Thailand hotel recommendation blog for all your hotel bookings. If you book through these two blogs, you help me out making some extra income to maintain this blog. Much appreciated!
