Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 31st May, 2012

Today's weather;

Today sees overcast again over Koh Samui. Earlier today there were blue spots, now, an hour later, it's pretty much white. Current temp at 7am is 27.3C

This narrow road is now the connection between Chaweng and the airport departures area

Yesterday saw a lovely morning and early afternoon with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. The late afternoon and evening saw overcast but no rain. Max temp reached 33.2C

The forecast for the next 7 days on Koh Samui has changed a bit and unfortunately not for the better. The wind remains but starts to pick up next Monday with excessive strong wind bursts as of Wednesday. Rain is also predicted starting from Tuesday.

Hi Camille, thank you for writing this blog. I am on Samui for a month, until the end of June, and I am a bit nervous about the flooding you had last year. Was that predicted? I don't want to get stuck at the airport! Thank you again for this info and your help :)

Hi, there should be no reason to fear flooding. The real monsoon is usually in November and we can get flooding during that period.

The other flooding we had was during March last year and that was more like a 'freak'accident, completely out of season.

Right now, there are measures taken to deal better with flooding, around the island at 'hot spots' for flash floods, new water relieve system are being put in place.

In my opinion you should just kick back and relax the nice weather that June usually brings.
