It's cloudy this morning over Koh Samui but not as grey as previous days and I spotted a small blue patch and there seems to be no wind right now. Current temp at 7am is 26.1C
The Guan Yu Temple in Hua Thanon, run by the Hua Thanon Hainanese Temple Association
Yesterday saw a cloudy day with some drizzle and traces of rain during the day and very strong wind in the morning. Max temp reached 30.7C
The forecast still predicts cloudy skies, moderate wind and an occasional shower for the next 7 days.

Hello Camille. I’m visiting your blog since 2010. I think you doing a great job in the best place!)
I have a question for you - which part of the island is the best in from the 1st jf january if we go for a bech vacation? i mean, i know that on chaweng in january really high water and its not so good as in august when the water is low and the beach is big and wide. is it actualy possible to find in any part of the Koh Samui a good beach with a cool, quite water in january?
thank you
Denis
Hi Denis,
Thanks for the heads up! January is more difficult to find good beach conditions, since the wind also blows in towards the Chaweng side.
Hi Camille,
Thanks for your daily weather updates. I'm visiting the island in just over a week and there seems to be very little sun at the moment! Is this normal for this time of year?
Many thanks
Eddie
Hi Eddie,
No, this is very unusual for an average July on Koh Samui. We can have some rain but not as much as this month. Yesterday was nice again though and it seems that today might be sunny as well.
You can check out conditions for each month since I started the blog some 6 years ago; please have a look at my archives, half way down the page on my Samui info and weather blog, right hand side, they go back a few years. Open a month that you’re interested in and check one of the last posts of each month, starting with ‘Goodbye to…………’ this post will tell you the weather conditions for that month.
You can also check each individual post for that month if you wish to.
Hello again, Camille!)
Sorry for disturbing you again, but maybe you can give me advise, acording to your huge experience in the islands knowledge in south east asia - where is the best place with cum water, no wind, no wawes and nice sandy beaches in january?
thank you so much.
Denis
Denis,
In my opinion January is good enough on Samui. You may be able to find better conditions at the 'other' side, the Phuket side in January.
I'm not really familiar with season in other SE Asia countries.
