Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 5th September, 2011

Today's weather;

Samui and Koh Phangang have thin cloud layers which should be burned away once the sun starts to heat up. Current temp at 7am is 26C

The PADI IDC on Koh Phangan is well on it's way by now!

Another beautiful sunset yesterday on Koh Phangan

Yesterday saw a lovely and warm day on both Samui and Koh Phangan. Around 8.30pm Samui had some serious rain though and Phangan only had some rain around 4.30am. Max temp reached 33.5C

We are planning to visit Koh Samui from 23rd to 30th Oct. Is this a good
season to visit in terms of the rains and monsoon? Is it likely that it may
rain all day for days together OR are the rains limited to 1-2 hours a day
and the rest of the day is clear ? Any help you can provide will be very
welcome. thanks.

Hi,

October and especially later in the month, is near the monsoon season that typically starts around November. It’s hard to say how the weather will be than but please have a look at my archives, half way down the page on my Samui info and weather blog, left hand side, they go back a few years. Open a month that you’re interested in and check one of the of the last posts of each month, starting with ‘Goodbye to…………’ this post will tell you the weather conditions for that month.
You can also check each individual post for that month if you wish to.

Hope this helps for now.
