7th December, 2008

Today's weather;

It's cloudy and the recent, usual wind again. Current temp at 7 am is 26.6C.

Yesterday was cloudy and saw rain in the morning. The afternoon was dry again and a bleak sun even popped through the clouds during the late afternoon. Max temp reached 28.8C.

In Bangkok in a surprise move the Democrats may be forming a new government after they formed a coalition with former government parties and the new PM may be Abhisit Vejjajiva.
Khun Abhisit may be controversial for a complete different reason, he may be considered not being Thai enough, being born and raised mainly outside of Thailand and having completed his studies abroad.

Thaksin ex wife Pojaman is doubted te be here to see her mother. It's amazing that a fugitive (she's convicted and out on bail which she skipped) isn't arrested on arrival!

The twists and turns of Thai politics - the only certainty seems to be that most of the time we haven't a clue what's going to happen next. Who would have thought, after all the fuss made over the Thaksin trials, than bail-breaker Pojaman could waltz back in without being arrested on the spot. Maybe behind the scenes there is some kind of compromise deal being worked out. That would be very Thai, after all...

Hi TB,

Thai politics are indeed in a league of their own.

Good to be back home. After all the trouble with flight cancellation and delays. Finally got to fly out from Suvarnabhumi. I didn't mind being stranded on Samui for 5 more days than originally planned, though ;). Our Samui holiday was wonderful. We only had 2 days of monsoon rain (the first 2 days of Dec), then wonderful weather. Especially the last 3 days with blue skies. Thanks again for your great blog. I have enjoyed reading and will get back to reading again when I will be coming to Samui the next time. It is such a pretty island and wonderful holiday destination, I am sure to return ;). Too bad I didn't get to Pee Son on this trip (was traveling with my parents who are in their 60's and don't like seafood), will do it on next trip. Have a great day!
