15th December, 2008

Today's weather;

A blue sky with plenty of clouds is shaping up. Current temp at 7 am is 26C.

Yesterday saw a nice blue sky over Samui but around Koh Tao, where I was diving a cloudy sky formed. Max temp reached 31C.
We had a lovely dinner at Sabeinglea restuarant in Lamai with my parents and some friends! Highly recommendable.

In Bangkok MPs are set for showdown in Parliament as D-day arrives as elections for a new PM will happen today. The Democrats are wary that MPs will be lured by Bt50m "sick leave".

Hi Matt,

The Centara is excellent value for money in my opinion. Be aware that they have a Chaweng and Lamai resort. The one in Lamai is 'in the middle of nowhere'!

Dear Camille,

Thank you for your weather blog. We will be in Samui from next wednesday until New Year's and would like to do at least some diving.
My wife and I are padi open divers, having dived in many of the world's great locations. We're not fanatics, but do enjoy it.

Could you organize a couple of dives for us? We would rather do a private charter than a group tour.

Kindly give me some options, or if you could indicate someone who could help.

We will be staying in a villa close to Big Buddha beach.

Many thanks
Gabriel

Hi Gabriel,

Thanks for checking my weather blog! It's always good to know that people out there enjoy it!

Regarding the diving, I'm more than happy to help you out. Is it just the two of you or will more people join you for the trip?

With a private charter speedboat you could visit Sail Rock and/or other Pinnacles, like South-West Pinnacle or visit the National Marine Park.

I just came back from Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui. It is a fantasic hotel with good service. A bit on the pricey side but really something special. The gardens were wonderful and facilities in god condition. I also liked the gym (in front of the beach) and easy access to nearby restaurants and shops.
