15th October, 2007

Today's weather;

Big grey clouds overhead with the sun trying to pry through at some places. Current temp at 7 am is 25C.

Yesterday saw very hard and prolonged rain in the morning. In the afternoon the weather cleared up a bit and the clouds thinned out a bit and there's was no rain anymore, until 5.30 this morning. Max temp reached 27.8C. It's been while since the temperature didn't hit 30C during the daytime.

hiya Camille, i find your weather reports very informative. We will be on Samui from next week for two weeks one on samui another on Pha ngan at least thats the current plan!

I know the weather is a bit changeable this time of year are there any parts of Samui that get less rain than others in general? I know it can be very localised out there at least so I'm told.

any advice will be very much welcome

thanks

Gary

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the thumbs up!

Regarding your questions which parts are wettest on Samui, it's indeed sometimes the fact that some parts are dry but others are having a big shower at the same time.

Sometimes the Choeng Mon peninsula is dry and the rest of the island (or Chaweng) have rain, although it can be the other way around as well.

However, the rainy season, that seems to reign right now, is rather merciless to all of the island.

The current tendency seems to be rain in the morning, dry and sunny in the afternoon.

Hope you enjoy your stay, nevertheless.
