11th August, 2009

Today's weather;

A bit early today, since I'll be on the boat, teaching a PADI Open Water diver course to my friend who's visiting, which I also posted about yesterday on my dive blog.

A perfect blue sky is shaping up and the forecasts for the next week are grand, blue, steaming hot skies! Current temp at 7 am is around 27C.

Yesterday I was around Koh Tao and on the way over and back we experienced a bit of rain but the rest of the day was nice and sunny. Max temp was in the lower thirties Celsius.

For a change, a sun set on Samui, taken at Big Buddha, two days ago.

Hi, my family and I are arriving on Samui tomorrow (Wednesday 12th August) and we would like to do some diving. I was wondering what the diving conditions are like right now (visibility etc). Many thanks for any info!!

Hi Camille,

I found your blog on the web and found out that you know a lot about Koh Samui . I have some questions. Maybe you can help me answer them?

I want to go to Koh Samui in the first two weeks of November. Is it raining al lot then? Will it infect my holiday? Or should I go to another island? Do you have any idea which one?

Kind regards,
Yi

Hi Yi,

Are you Dutch by any chance I’m also Dutch!

I just saw your question on Thorn Tree and answered there, November is indeed very rainy, check out my blog archives and I would recommend visiting Phuket, Koh Lanta or Kao Lak since it more likely to have good weather there during that time frame.

Hoi Camille,

Nogmaals bedankt!

Gr,
Yi

Hoi Yi,

Graag gedaan, ik had je graag aanbevolen om naar Samui te komen, maar uitgerekend net niet in die tijd. Je kunt natuurlijk altijd geluk hebben, maar uit ervaring weet ik dat het dan goed nat kan zijn hier. Succes met Phuket en de ‘andere’ kant. Een kennis van me heeft een Phuket weer blog, mischien die ook effe in de gaten houden;
