Today's weather;
The sky broke open and there are plenty of blue patches. The wind still seems to be strong though. Current temp at 7 am is 25.8C.
Yesterday was cloudy but dry. Max temp reached 29C.
In Bangkok the political ball is in full swing for who's going to take the PM seat. At the moment Abhisit is poised to be pm as democrats seek house vote with former PM's Thaksin new party Pheu Thai in a desperate bid for power.
In the meantime, the closing of the airport seems to have been a massive blow to the tourism industry in Thailand. Many people cancelled their plans for their holiday in Thailand and hotels, restaurants etc are empty.

I was at a function yesterday and it was sad to hear that so many people are misunderstanding what has been happening in Bangkok. It may be due to the situation in Mumbai occurring at the same time, but many will not travel to Thailand now because they feel they are not welcome as tourists.
I'd be on a plane tomorrow if I could! I may even still get around to it (should know more after Wednesday). I'd love to see Thailand during the current season.

Thanks for the positive words! That's what Thailand needs right now, people who understand the situation and are willing to come and visit us again.
Most people who have been Thailand will come back, it's mostly the new ones that have doubts!

There are certainly fewer tourists around here-although we are a bit off the beaten track.
This is my first "cool" season, its great in Prachuap. Cool breeze and wall to wall sunshine!

At the moment we, just like many others I guess, have a few cancellations or postponements of travel plans.
I really think that Thailand will lose a lot of business amongst the first time Thailand travellers.
Next year may see a dramatic slump in tourist arrivals I'm afraid.
