29th December, 2008

Today's weather;

It's not raining right now but there was plenty last night and it's very clouded with a max temp of 25.6C.

Yesterday was a nice day with plenty of sunshine although it started out with a bit of rain. Max temp reached 29C.

Last night we visited Sabeinglae restaurant in Lamai once more and the food was lovely, again! Deep fried Plaa Jalamet or Pomfret, King prawns with Tamarind sauce, one of the best Tom Kha Kai's ever, Puu Lon and a few other bits and pieces. Their wine card is also very nice and rather cheap, no wine exceeds 1.000,-THB (except two!) and we had a nice French Rose for just 650,-THB for the bottle. We went early and were treated to this lovely sunset as pictured above.
Visit this restaurant and find out for yourselves how good it is! They just extended the restaurant and completed a brand new sala near the beach, so you have a beautiful sea view now.

Hi camille, like the blog - it's very informative. I am travelling to Koh Samui from Dublin next week and am keen to know where is the best place to go snorkelling on the island? Hope u can help! best wishes, Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

Your best bet for snorkeling is most likely around Koh Tao and especially around Koh Mamgyuan, near Koh Tao, ideally take a day trip.

Around Samui, this time of the year, the water is rather murky.

Hope you enjoy your stay.
