Today's weather;
Bangkok's sky is grey this morning and it's wet outside although it stopped raining temporarily. All this does not help prevent the potential evacuation of 13 of the city's districts when the water keeps rising. The newly elected government receives poor ratings for the relief effort. It's our last day in Bangkok and with the current forecast it looks like we'll be doing some indoors shopping! It also looks like we'll get out of town just before the predicted flood trouble starts in full earnest. By the way, the current temp at 7am is 25.1C
Samui on the other hand, just like the rest of Southern Thailand is doing fine. Current temp at 7am is 26.5C and max temp reached 33.4C yesterday.
The Democracy Monument where so many riots took place last year with the so called Red shirts
Yesterday saw a lovely morning around Bangkok and we took the opportunity to visit Wat Phra Kaew, a report can be found here. Just after we had lunch and wanted to walk the Sanaam Luang it started to rain briefly but forcefully so this part of our morning had to be skipped and we took a taxi back to our hotel instead. The Sukhumvit area was dry but later during the evening it started to rain again.
We had dinner with a friend of ours at a very exclusive sports club near the center of town which was a very interesting experience, to be able to see a horse track and an 18 hole green pretty much in the center of the city! Max temp reached 32.2C
