dear camille,

i just came across your blog on the internet.
me and my partner are willing to come to koh samui the 2nd of august for our honeymoon.
as a person who knows the island i'd like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind:

1. how is the weather like in koh samui in august?
2. we like snorkeling, are there good places for snorkeling and is the season ok for that?
3. we look for a budget place to stay; can you recommend clean and nice but not expensive places to stay?

thanks very much in advance for your time. i am a blog writer too i mostly write on food but yet just in turkish.
my blog is www.mimosacafe.blogspot.com if you want to check.

all the best

Hi Ebru,

In general the weather is good during August, please check my archives for the last 3 years.

To answer your questions;
1. Please check my archives, in general the weather is good although we may get some occasional showers.
2. Yes, it should be a good season for snorkeling, the best place is around Koh Nangyuan, near Koh Tao. You can book day trips to this location
3. Choengmon beach, my fave beach has the Choengmon beach hotel, excellent value and location

Hope this helps. Here’s all the Turkish I know; Bir ekmek!

Hi Ebru,

Hope you enjoy browsing my blog and your stay on Samui!

My Turkish is not that good, considering that I used to live in Berlin for 8 years and almost all of that time in Kreuzberg, partly surrounded by Turkish people in the whole flat!

I used to eat a lot of Turkish food, Fleck soup etc. Really enjoyed the food!
