In Ban Taling Ngam it's raining now (11.30 am) not a lot, but still ... :(

Same here Monique, in Plai Laem, but only for 10 minutes and the sun is out again.
During the rain, I could still see blue patches at other parts of the island!

Hello Camille,

I just wanted to say thank you very much for your daily weather posts.

My wife and I are arriving in Samui next Saturday and your info has helped us immensly.

We were all set to cancel due to the bad weather but after eagerly reading your posts every morning we've decided to come and hope that the worst is over.

Thanks again,

Arj (NYC-USA)

Hi Arj,

Thanks very much for your nice words, that's really appreciated.

Now let's hope that you won't have to come and see me after you arrived ;-)

Enjoy your stay here!

hi, we are meant to be flying over to samui on friday, stay there for one night and then head to ko phangan for 8 nights. we just got stuck in the floods in hoi an over in vietnam and are a bit concerned about flying to samui, wondering if perhaps we should try and change our flights to phuket...what do you think? is the worst of it over? would you advise us to continue anyway? it would be such a shame to miss out we just dont know what to do. were 3 girls. thanks so much.

Hi Sam,

There's always space for 3 more girls on the island ;-)

Seriously though, although it's fine right now, sunshine since 5 days, IT IS the rainy season and you may have to deal with showers once in a while. I just hope that we don't have a stretch like we experienced in October (very unusual for that time of the year) and earlier in November.

Have look at some weather prediction sites like accuweather and windguru on my blog.

If you're coming over for the Full Moon party, there's going to be a big country wide cultural event as well, Loy Kratong on the same day, well worth experiencing.

Hope this helps Sam.

Have safe travels and enjoy yourselves.
