Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 27th October, 2016

Today's weather;

The sky over Koh Samui this morning looks nice, with mostly blue parts but also a few clouds in it. There may be a short shower during the morning but the sun is out to play today! Current temp at 7am is a nice and cool 24C

At Kata on Phuket we also have a mostly blue sky with a few isolated clouds in it and I expect it to be get sunny and hot here! Current temp at 7am is 26.1C

Chaweng beach yesterday, lovely and flat surface, almost as flat like a mirror. Enjoy it whilst it last since during November, the monsoon may start on Koh Samui and the wind will change and Chaweng beach may have big waves. For the time being however, it's fantastic. Be careful though and swim fully clothed, be aware of box jelly fish around Samui's popular beaches.

Yesterday saw most of the day a nice day with some sunshine and a few clouds but during the afternoon there was also a downpour for about half an hour. Max temp reached 30C

Karon beach on Phuket yesterday, since a few days the weather has changed on Phuket and there's less wind and the waves aren't as big and threatening anymore, Soon the wind will have dropped completely here and the beaches of Phuket will look flat like a mirror again. However, until that time, it's important to observe the Phuket Life Guard guidelines and check the colors of the flags. Red flags mean 'don't swim', abide by these flags, since each year people drown at Phuket and along Thailand's beaches in general because they don't take the warning signs serious. As recent as this weekend, when a Chinese tourist drowned at Patong beach

The forecast for Koh Samui did change overnight. Tomorrow may be the last of a nice. warm and partially sunny day for a few days to come. Over the weekend heavy cloud layers are supposed to move in loaded with plenty of rain and towards the first November weekend, more rain and a bit of wind are expected to hit Koh Samui shores. Is that the start of the rainy or monsoon season after all?
