1st October, 2009

Today's weather;

Welcome to October and once more there's heavy overcast in the morning with a current temp of 25C. Today should be the last day of strong wind.

Yesterday saw overcast all day long and bits and pieces of rain during the night. Max temp reached 30C.

Hi Camille,

I have been checking out your website religiously for the past 2 months as I’ve booked a trip to Samui on the 15th to 18th of October.

At the same time, I have been bombarded by news and cautions from friends to refrain from traveling at that period due to natural disasters.

I understand that you aren’t a weather man but I would really love to hear what is your take on it is as you have been living in Samui for 10 years!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Mandy,

There’s no reason not to come to Thailand or Samui for that matter in October, natural disasters aren’t that commonplace here luckily enough.

Weather wise it’s a lot tougher to know what to expect. The more you lean towards November, the more likely it is that you will have more rain. Last year the rainy season started very early, hard to predict when it will start this year. Hopefully as late as possible ;-)

Hope this helps!

Hi Camille!

Thank you so much for your kind response!

I will then be heading to Samui by hook or by crook in the next 2 weeks.

Will keep my fingers crossed to have the rainy season start as late as possible!

Have a great weekend!

Regards,
Mandy
