Hi Camille,
Just discovered your site as am in the process of booking a holiday for my husband and I. We are looking at doing a few days on the mainland and then a week - 10 days on an island. We're thinking of Ko Pha Ngan for the island experience but were wondering about the weather. Right now we're scheduled off from 25 June - 20 July. I know is technically at the beginning of the monsoon season in Thailand, correct? From what I've read it seems that we still might be okay especially if we stay on the northeast of KPN. What are your thoughts? Any advice?
Thank you very much for any insight you can provide! Happy to have found your blog!
The official monsoon just started but typically the Gulf of Thailand area where Samui and Koh Phangan are located are not really that much affected by this monsoon, the West coast with Phuket, Krabi and such is usually a lot more affected by this monsoon. The Gulf should have nice weather, lots of sunshine and an occasional shower. Ideally you check out my archives for the last two years.
