There are more clouds than blue spots in Koh Samui's sky this morning but there at least there are blue spots! There's still a fairly strong wind blowing which is interfering with all boat travel related activities, many dive shop owners and snorkel companies will not be too excited about this. Current temp at 7am is 25C
Valley at Baan Namuang, where around 2003 the feasibility of a second airport on Koh Samui was investigated
Yesterday saw blue skies with plenty of clouds in it but also with a strong breeze. It was a nice day and due to the wind it didn't get very warm. Max temp reached 28C
The forecast predicts blue skies mixed with clouds and a fair bit of wind until the weekend when stronger wind and rain should be coming Samui's way.

Hello - great blog. I am hoping you can help me. I'm trying to rent a car 2 Jan - 6 Jan but everywhere I find online is sold out. Do you know of a local place that might have availability? Can you get me in contact with them? Thanks - Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
Early January is always a very busy period on Koh Samui and the big car rental companies on Koh Samui with websites, may well be completely booked.
However, there should be no reason to despair since there are plenty of smaller car rental companies without websites that I don't expect for you to have serious problems renting a car.
Check with your resort and i'm sure that they will be able to help in due time.
