This morning solidarity marches started in Nathon with approximately 1000 participants. In Phuket an estimated 50.000 people are demonstrating and large amounts of protesters are also in Surat Thani and plenty of other Southern Thai cities.
The protesters are planning a march around the island, so either join or be prepared for potential traffic jams.
In Bangkok the situation is peaceful at the moment and despite the dissolution of the House of Parliament and new elections within 60 days by PM Yingluck Shinawatra, the anti government protest will most likely only increase until their demands are met and that will be a departure from politics by the Shinawatra family/clan.
These are interesting times for Thailand and I can only hope that the demonstrations remain peaceful and no lives will be lost today or in the coming days.
'Ohk pai' or 'go away' addressed to the current government
