Yesterday saw the first sunshine of this year around Koh Samui! It started slowly but soon enough there was no cloud in the sky anymore and the sun was blazing again! Max temp reached 28C

The forecast for our island is looking good, sunshine and dry until Sunday with the wind winding down. Some rain can be had during the daytime from Sunday onward but there should be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sun as well.

The National Army is called in to help with the flood situation in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani and Chumpon provinces. The situation should get back to normal soon as the rain stopped.

Thailand's road still keep taking their toll, day number 6 of the New Year holiday saw 314 killed in road accidents. The statistics on the sixth day showed a marked improvement over last year. On Tuesday alone, 312 accidents killed 32 people and wounded 333. This was better by 9.83 per cent or 34 accidents, 27.27 per cent or 12 deaths and 8.01 per cent or 29 injuries.
