Yesterday was a grey, dark and very wet day around Samui. At various times during the day and night it rained, sometimes very hard. Max temp reached 28.3C

The forecast predicts very strong winds today and plenty of rain for today and tomorrow. The rain is supposed to stop Tuesday or tomorrow afternoon and wind should fade come Friday.

Flash floods hit the South of Thailand, the provinces of Songkla, Yala and Nakhon Si Thammarat have been hit badly and the city of Hat Yai has some flooding, once more.

The road rage for the first three of this festive season accounted for 165 people killed in road accidents. Most accidents - 81 per cent - involved motorcycles and most resulted from drunk driving - 44 per cent - or speeding - nearly 22 per cent.

Over half (59 per cent) occurred on straight stretches of road and about a quarter (27 per cent) took place between 4pm to 8pm. Over half of all casualties were of working age. Enjoy the Thai roads! Check the Facebook page of a road safety organization.
