Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 1st October, 2010

Today's weather;

Samui was experiencing a 'Fai Dab' or power cut this morning upon awakening and the awakening bit around 6am was in the middle of a strong storm with hard wind gushes and plenty of rain. Welcome to October or welcome to the rainy season? Current temp at 7am is 24.6C

Yesterday saw a tiny little bit of rain during the morning and it cleared up later in the afternoon. Max temp reached 31C

Hello Camille!
Thank you for your inspirational blog!!!!!!!

My husband and I will be coming to Koh Samui the 9th of november (we genuinely thought the monsoon season would be finished by then, obviously we were wrong).
We're still looking forward to spend 2 weeks on the island!
Could you please tell me if in november tows, restaurants, shop and more (museums, parks....etc) will be open or would they be affected by the monsoon and low tourist season?

We'll be spending 7 nights on the south of the island in a resort by Natien Beach and other 5 nights will be spent near Hat bo phut.
We are hoping that, despite the monsoon season, we would be able to visit the island without having too many problems.

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Hi Cristina,

Thanks for your nice words about my blog!

It looks like you will here in the middle of the monsoon. With some luck you will get some sunshine in, especially looking back at last year, where there was not a single drop of rain all monsoon long but unfortunately for you, I wouldn't count on it.

I do hope that you will have a nice stay here and the majority of all shops, restaurants and the likes will be open and it will be business as usual!

Thank you Camille for your super fast reply!!!!
;)

And also thank you for your advice!
I won't let the rainy weather spoil my holiday! (And, with a little bit of luck, we might enjoy few sunny afternoons....althoght as you said, I won't be counting on it!).
