22nd May, 2009

Today's weather;

An almost perfect blue sky reigns over Samui, this lovely morning. Current temp at 7 am is 26.3C.

Yesterday was nice and sunny until somewhere after 3 pm, when it started to rain. It was however almost a torrential rain and it poured down heavily for almost an hour. Flash floodings were everywhere and it didn't stop raining until 7 pm.

This is how the road looked like at a construction site between Chaweng and Choengmon, where the water rushed down a mountain, depositing big rocks on the street!
Max temp reached 32C.

Camille, the rain has found it's way to Wang Pho also and we have had different types some ,nice and slow , and some all day drizzles and some heavy downpours as you pictured , the road up to our house extends up to the foot of the mountain range behind us and when we get the heavy fast rains it comes down the middle of the road like a small river running the full lenght of the dirt road to the paved one below , lucky for us they have a good drain ditch down there and the water deverts off into the farmers fields , I like the coolness the rain brings , but the heavy rains scare me a little , thank god we are on a little hill with our house. Hope all is well with you and family and always enjoy reading you little stories and seeing your photos . Malcolm
