Today's weather;
It's blue and beautiful! Current temp at 7 am is 28C! Off to Koh Tao for a PADI IE with my IDC candidate.
Yesterday was hot. There was a 5 minute shower at 11 pm last night, not nearly enough to cool things down. Max temp reached 35C.

Dear Camille,
Me and my boyfriend are planning a year in Thailand after the summer. We will probably end up in Koh Samui. I just have a few questions that I thought you might be able to help us with. Is it easy to find a long term villas to rent and how much would it cost to rent a villa in a nice area per month?
Is it really as cheap in Thailand that everyone say? What kind of a monthly budget could we live a comfortable life on?
It would be wonderful if you could help me with these questions :-).
What is it like living in Koh Samui?
Kind Regards
Anna
Hi Anna,
Long term villas are no problem at all on Samui, thee are plenty all over the island in all price classes. Furnished bungalows start at approximately 8.000,-THB per month and the sky is the limit. I'm pretty sure that if you look around for a day or so, you'll be able to find something in the your preferred area.
A monthly budget is difficult to estimate, since I don't know what kind of lifestyle you prefer. If you eat Thai food or cook yourself it's cheap, Western food is more expensive. On top of accommodation and transportation expenses, you're probably looking at a minimum of around 20.000.-THB per month.
How living on Samui is like, well I still like it after 10 years!
Hope this helps!
