16th April, 2009

Today's weather;

It's looking nice this morning with loads of blue sky above. Current temp at 7 am is 28C.

Yesterday was a very typical Samui April day, steaming hot, although the max temp 'only' reached 31C.

Songkran road accidents' death toll rises to 272 after five days, there are a few more days to follow!

The political unrest seems to be fading out, biggest news is probably the Foreign Ministry revoking Thaksin's regular passport.
A certain degree of normalcy seems to have been restored and Silom and Khao San are wet and wild; Songkran celebrations were wet and boisterous in Bangkok yesterday after days of rioting and political turmoil eased with the end of the red shirts protest on Tuesday.

I'm visiting the island tomorrow from Taiwan. Sure hope all the weather forecasts are wrong for the next 4-5 days, as they call for thunder storms. Will be there until the 21st. I am praying for sunny weather!

Hi,

It looks that from Sunday onwards there will be strong winds but hardly any rain.

Your blog has become a god sent for me. We are due to come over to Koh Samui May 8th and my boyfriend is panicking about the weather as all the other websites are citing rain and thunderstorms. From now until we go, I will be logging onto your blog to find out what's REALLY happening with the weather.
I understand that it can be thundery in May but I dont think that will stop us having a wonderful time.

Hi Trudy,

Thanks for your support. In general if there are rainshowers, they typically won't last for a long time and you should have sunshine on a regular base.

Just to let you know, today the blogspot domain is not accessible in Thaialnd, that's why I can't post today. Is it working at your end of the world?

Yes - there was a bit of a delay with it loading and I can only see Thursdays at the moment

All the best
