Today's weather;
This years November weather is an engima; it's a straight blue sky this lovely morning with a current temp at 7 am of 26C.
Last evening around 8 pm we had the first shower of rain since a while and it lasted just for a few minutes.
Yesterday was an all day sunny affair. Max temp reached 33C.
Bangkok remained quiet yesterday, deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra told ecstatic but peaceful supporters on Saturday that only royal kindness and people's power would allow him to return home. Thaksin played a perfect victim.

Send some sunshine up north please. The wet season's supposed to be over in Chiang Mai, but it hasn't stopped raining for the past few week :-(
As for politics, I hear the ASEAN summit has been transferred to Chiang Mai mid-December. Should the current status quo... or rather, stand-off... last that long!

Looks indeed that you'll be busy soon with ASEAN since I don't think that the status quo will finish soon.
Camille, do you know if it's possible to visit Ang Thong at the end of November if the weather is good? I read somewhere on the internet that the park closes for the rainy time of year (mostly due to rough sea), but is it normally only just for bad days or consequently all the way through at this time? Hope to see Ang Thong as I have missed it on my last two vacations (have been to Koh Tao instead). Thanks for your information! ;)

We dived the Ang Thong National Marine Park all year long, but that's the Nothern part, where there's no entrance fee.
As fas as I know though, the park is open all year long and trips are organised all year, just because of weather conditions typical for November, it may be that the trips aren't orgnaised as regulary.

Just found out that your information was correct and that the Ang Thong National Marine Park is closed for public until 23rd December 2008.
Chaiyasan Hiransalee, chief of the national park near Koh Samui, said the park would be closed during the period for the safety of tourists as the sear would be rough due to the monsoon and storms.

Thanks for this information good to know when planning our trip. Maybe it's better to leave it if it can get dangerous. And really makes one more reason to keep coming back to Samui ;). My visit this month will be my 3rd time to visit Samui, and certainly not my last. Hopefully it will be possible to visit Koh Tao anyway during this time.
