Welcome to November 2016
It's the first day of the month so time to say Welcome to November 2016.
The month of November is typically a wet month with lots of rain since it is when the rainy season or monsoon starts. There's enough rain predicted for the first ten days of this month to justify the name of rainy season.
The big event this month is Loy Kratong festival and it's not entirely clear what will happen on Koh Samui. Today came the announcement by the government that all events as of 14th November can take place, including Loy Kratong. However, in some cities the Loy Kratong festival had already been cancelled before this new announcement.
At this moment I don't know what will happen on Koh Samui, I don't think that anything has been cancelled, but once I find out I will announce it accordingly.
It's wellw orth checking out if you happen to be on Koh Samui or anywhere else in Thailand. The temple below, Wat Plai Laem is a great location to celebrate but also Chaweng Lake is always busy.
A beautiful drone shot of Wat Plai Laem, with all of it's statues and buildings nicely captured in one shot
The beginnig and end of this month I will be spending on Phuket, teaching PADI IDC programs but the middle part of tbis month I will be on Koh Samui and I should be able to float my Kratong on home turf, at Wat Plai Laem.
Get ready for a wet month and some short flash floods, it will benefit the island though, since the ground water levels should fill up again.
