Today's weather;
Once more a blue sky is knocking at today's door. Current temp at 7 am is 27.7C.
Yesterday was sunny and hot all day long. Max temp reached 34.4C.
We went to Sabinglae last night and it was most enjoyable. We ordered the Yam Sabeinglae and puu Lon and enjoyed every drop. It took a bit to work out how to ask for it but we got there. I have found a favourite place for lunch and have been the last two days. It was an article in the Samui Wining and Dining guide under the category "Going Native" This is a very helpful page in these papers and I went to their office to get some back issues for the future. The place we went to was ... It dosnt have a name in English but the Thai name translates roughly to "Samui Muang Trang". If you are coming from Tesco Lotus on the ring road heading towards Lamai and just before the last turn left into Chaweng there is a Yellow painted wall on your left which is Samui Map Company and it is just opposite there between the Kodak shop and Divers Emporium. I love to be able to just lift the lids of the pots and choose what I want. They did charge us more which was typical but still value for money.
Also can you provide a price for my husband for a dive to sail rock? He wants to go this week for a morning trip for two dives. (Open water diver)? Or suggest the best value place to go?
Off to Tam Saeb (Zaap) tonight I think. We do actually do more than just eat but it is a big part of our trips to Thailand! Regards Bronwyn
As always, good to hear your update. Sabeinglae is by far my favorite Thai restaurant on Samui, excellent that you ordered the local food and even better that you liked it. Good on you!
The place you describe Has been sighted by me but I never stopped to eat there. There are plenty of places like that where you point at the pots or pans to order your food and I have a few regular places I visit juts like it. One kind of behind the Green mango in Chaweng.
A speedboat trip to Sail Rock is 3.600,-THB for a bit more than a half day, two dives, transfer, equipment and a Divemaster, pick up around 7 am and back on Samui around 2 or 3 pm. I understand he’s already an Open Water diver? Sail Rock is an excellent choice, yesterday there was a whale shark there.
