Old style Samui pictures

Old style Samui pictures

Since a while I've been collecting some pictures from 'old style Samui' or at least pictures that are older than 10 or 15 years and today I'm presenting you with a first set of old(er) Samui pix. Some of these pictures can be found at Beer Lao's picture gallery, who's permission I obtained for using his pictures.

If you're on Samui, I can also highly recommend to visit the Natural Museum in Lamai at the local Temple there. So far I posted twice about this museum, here's access to part 1 and to part 2.

Hope you enjoy these pictures, I've got a few more stored for later disclosure.

Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break. If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course. You can also enjoy some of the trips I recommend, like a half day gourmet lunch and snorkeling trip at the Southern part of Koh Samui or a photography trip where you get to see the most photo genetic spots on the island or go for a drinks tasting tour if you like a tipple or two.

Contact me for more detailed information on any of the options mentioned.

Camille nice touch of nostalgia. It would be good to compare some modern pics with these.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi MIke,

A good idea to compare, the Big Buddha picture is easy to re enact, I will need to look very hard where that Chaweng picture was taken but there are already plenty of Chaweng beach on the blog.

Will look into it though.

Mooi om die 'oude' foto's te zien. Ik heb 't idee dat er iedere week nieuwe gebouwen verrijzen op plekken die de week ervoor nog vrij waren ... het gaat hard!
