Every year around this time the Plai Laem school organises a party in order to raise funds and all of Plai Laem shows up to celebrate and donate. Last year I reported already about this yearly event, that I must have visited for at least 5 or 6 times by now, if not more.
The local Puu Yai Baan or Village Head, Plawit, makes a speech with school children in the background who are holding pictures of the King and the Queen.
As every year, it's full with people who come to eat and talk and watch their young children who attend the school perform a dance on the stage.
The 'Pong Malay' for the children, parents or family (in this case) buy them for their children or relatives and the children hang them around their neck. After a few moments, the Pong Malay's get taken back and are resold. An excellent way of raising fund.
Last but not least, before you go home, or upon arrival for the Jai Dee (good heart) people, the place to leave your envelope with your donation.
See you next year again at the 2011 version of the school party of Plai Laem.
