Today's weather;
It's cloudy around Koh Samui and the wind has already picked up essentially. It might still stay dry today although rain is in the air. Current temp at 7.30am is 28C
Stormy wind followed by hard rain yesterday at hour house in Plai Laem and around the island at various times of the day, causing powercuts
Yesterday saw an unexpected strong wind, storm like shortly before 2pm, directly followed by half an hour of very hard rain, causing powercuts around the island. The island needs the rain but the ground is so dry it can't handle such large amounts of water and flash floods are the result. Max temp reached 33C
The forecast hasn't changed much, the Samui Regatta which started yesterday couldn't have asked for more wind! As of tomorrow we should have storm like winds for four days in a row accompanied with plenty of rain. It's going to be interesting, with respect to flash slooding and powercuts around the island, plus any colleteral damage caused by the storm.
Until the end of the month it should stay stormy and wet, time to pull up the hatches!
