Today's weather;
It's been a while but we have a partially blue sky again over Koh Samui and the sun is peaking through. Not sure if it will remain like this for the rest of day but a nice morning is in the making. Current temp at 7am is 26.2C
After yesterday's picture of the Koh Samui airport landing and take off strip, here's a picture of a plane ready to take off. Taken at almost the same spot
Yesterday saw a tiny bit of sunshine during the morning hours around Koh Samui but the late afternoon, around 5pm we also had a tropical shower and a couple of strong wind bursts. Max temp reached 31.8C
The forecast remained steady for the time being, as of Thursday the wind will pick up and as of next weekend we may have storm like wind conditions and lots of rain for at least five days. We will keep an eye out for this and see if this soup will be really so hot when it's served.

Hi Camille,
Great blog, thanks for the info.
My wife and I are arriving on Saturday and judging by the weather forecast we are looking at a wet and windy start to our stay.
We have visited the island before and found that the weather forecasts can be way off with rain predictions and the weather can be fine. But having looked through your posts for the last couple of weeks it seems to have been pretty accurate! It seems to be slightly more cloudy and rainy than previous June/July's judging by some stat reading I have done also.
I was just wondering if you could tell me....When its not raining is it still pleasant enough to lay on the beach and swim in the sea etc? The temps seem pretty high.
Considering putting our arrival back a week if we can due to the weather from Saturday to Tuesday but we may just bite the bullet and come over anyway and hope that the storm is brief.
Any feedback would be much appreciated. (I know you are not able to predict the future so don't worry).
Ross.
Hi Ross,
Thanks for dropping by and reading the blog! You're correct stating that the weather forecasts can be off. Last week it was predicted that we should have strong wind right now, that just all evaporated overnight. It's hard to predict what's going to happen to the storm that's supposedly is coming our way as of the end of this week.
If you reside on the East coast of the island, the Chaweng and Lamai side, you should be fine in-between showers, it will still be warm although maybe not sunny.
Right now though, a lot of rain is predicted starting next Monday.
Hi Camille, great blog ! Me and my partner are arriving in koh samui on 13th July. Hoping the storm will have passed by then, starting to worry ! I will keep checking your blog and the weather in hope it does !
Hayley
Hi Hayley,
It looks like the stormy weather is half as bad as predicted, currently it looks like strong wind and fairly cloudy skies but not that much rain. Hopefully things will have cleared up by then.
