Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 28th June, 2011

Today's weather;

I'm back home again and as always it feels good! I had a great time in Indonesia but it's great to see my family again. Having changed the sunny skies of Gili Air for a cloudy sky on Samui this morning is a bit of a change though! The current temp on Samui is 27.8C. The strong winds of recent days have completely gone again!

Chaweng lake from the air

Yesterday saw a sunny and warm day on the island with a max temp of 33.2C

Hi Camille. i've been looking at your blog and the info has been very
helpful. I'm visiting koh samui on the 17th of august for 9 nights and
staying at the lagoon villas in plai laem, hope it lives up to expectaions.
was just wondering about low water issue as you have reported on in the
past, best places for sight seeing, food and drink and beaches to visit and
also best place to get a hire car, any info would be appreciated.
congratulations on a fab blog, regards Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for your message! The lagoon Villas should be just fine, I would enjoy my stay there! Regarding low water, during August you should be fine, very nearby is Choengmon beach, which is my favorite beach on Samui, where I take my family whenever we have time. For food and drink, please check my blog, there's a list of labels about halfway through the page on your left hand, please check the label 'restaurants' and it will show plenty of options, Thai and Western food.
What kind of car would you like to rent, I can easily hook you up with people before or upon arriving on Samui who run a reputable car hire business.

Hope this helps for now.

Hi Camille
Thanks for your reply to my email. Re the car hire we would like a car to suit 2 people, auto and air con, not sure for how long yet but may just have one for our whole stay just in case. if you can recommend any hire companies so that we can book something when we arrive that would be good. When we come to koh samui we would like to experience all of the activities on offer such as elephant trekking, kayaking and snorkelling, there is so much to do but not enough time to try everything, if you could let me know where to go and where to avoid that would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

No problem, I can arrange a car for you or get you in touch with the right people upon arrival.

The resort will offer many of the activities that you mention but to get an idea what to do, please have a read through this blog post on my blog, a trip around the island, which can be done in a day but is easily extended to two days if so wished, most of the activities mentioned have free entrance;A trip around the island

Hope this helps for now.
