Orgasmic Restaurant, Bophud

It's been a good two years since I wrote about a visit Orgasmic Beach Restaurant in Bophud and we did visit in-between but I didn't write about those visits. The absolutely mouth watering 'poppy seed crusted lamb loin' has long since been off the menu but it's still well worthwhile visiting here.

A cold starter; Baby squid with a pesto based sauce

Last week we did visit again and now it's time to do a write up again. The atmosphere and ambiance at the restaurant are still 'up there'! The ocean side location with fantastic view over the Bophud bay and Koh Phangan are just part of the whole set up.

Chicken filet with North African herbs and wild mushrooms

The food is also still very good. Wally, the owner/chef welcomed us at the bar and did check on us again during the meal, a nice little touch but back to the food. We had various starters going and the pictured squid dish did go down very well.

Prawns in tamarind sauce

The mains were also very well and very tasty and yummy indeed! The chicken filet had a very subtle Maroccan taste to it and we had two dishes with tamarind sauce, prawns and duck breast, both also very good.

My fave desert; Sabayon with 'perfumed' ice

For desert I chose the sabayon and it was really good, it came with jasmin flavored ice cream, a great combination. We didn't drink any wine, so the bill was within reason but be ready for a big bite into your wallet. I, for one, can't eat here every week but it was well worth it!

Excellent dining, a cut above the rest and a great ambiance. Well worth a visit for a special occasion or if you want to impress your partner or I'm sure you can find some excuse.

Reservations can be made on 086 276 9101 and be aware, they are closed on Tuesdays.
