Welcome to July 2018
A new month has started and is already 4 days old, so it's time to say 'Welcome to July 2018'.
July is a month with a bit of everything, sunny days, windy days and plenty of rainy days. July is a mini version of the rainy season, not as bad as as on the West coast, the Andaman side with Phuket, Khao Lak and Koh Lak for instance, but still a fairly wet month.
The first three days saw rain in two out of three days during the afternoon and evening and/or night and today is looking like there will be some rain soon. It's just past 1pm.
For the next seven days some hard wind and plenty of rainy moments are expected, likely to continue past the next seven days.
The last 4 versions of July were windy and rainy, laced with a few sunny days.
Welcome to July 2018; The yearly Ban Plai Laem school party was held last week. Although none of our children is currently visiting this school, we still visited, partly because my wife was dancing with a troupe of local Plai Laem women. Nope, that's not her on stage! As each year, it was busy with lots of excited children and parents, performing and watching the children on stage.
No events are scheduled at the moment for this month, if that changes, I will update the blog accordingly. One thing to put in your agenda though is the bi-monthly Green Market, which will be held on Sunday 15th July at the Elysee Boutique Resort at Fisherman's Village. Always a great and enjoyable afternoon.
If you find yourself on Koh Samui during this 2018 version of July, I hope you will enjoy yourself nonetheless!
Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break. If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course.
You can also enjoy some of the trips I recommend, like a half day gourmet lunch and snorkeling trip at the Southern part of Koh Samui or a photography trip where you get to see the most photo genetic spots on the island or go for a drinks tasting tour if you like a tipple or two.
You may also opt for a very special dinner experience at The Thai Experience.
Behind closed doors, reservation only and a very enjoyable and well worthwhile way of spending an evening on Samui.
Authentic Thai food and a great atmosphere. Can highly recommend this experience.
