Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 3rd December, 2016

Today's weather;

It's grey and it's pouring down with a steady rain flow on Koh Samui this morning with a strong wind blowing in as well. Pretty much all small boat services have ceased operating until at least Monday. It may keep raining all day long, if the forecast is half way correct for today. Monsoon at it's finest! Current temp at 6.30am is 24C

At Kata on Phuket we have a heavyly clouded sky but it's dry at the moment but I do expect some rain at some stage later today. Current temp at 6.30am is 25.2C

Yesterday we completed the PADI IDC for November-December 2016 on Phuket with the PADI IE starting early this morning and the exams should be completed shortly after noon tomorrow.

Tomorrow might see a late update since I plan to participate in a 10km race at Rajabath University in Thalang on Phuket, which will most likely keep me busy until 10.30-11am

High water in Fisherman's Village yesterday almost flooding the road. There were many gutters and drain holes covered by waste and garbage around the island which made it difficult for the water to drain away, causing plenty of flash floods all around Koh Samui yesterday evening

Yesterday saw strong winds and plenty of rain around koh Samui, especially during the evening and night a lot of rain came down accompanied by some thunderstorms. Max temp reached 30C

A gasoline pump for 91 gasoline, which is used in motorbikes, along the roadside in Kata on Phuket. Besides regular gas stations you can also find plenty of households that have a little stand with bottled gasoline. You can find this all over Thailand. The bottles hold 91 or 95 gasoline in 0.7 litre bottles. It's more expensive compared to a regular gas station but can be a saviour if you're in dire needs of gasoline

The forecast for the next seven days on Koh Samui is not looking good. The predicted monsoon has reached Koh Samui in full force and the weekend may be a non stop wet affair with strong wind. Small boat traffic will not be going on and all of next week looks like more rain but a lot less wind will be heading Koh Samui's way. Dig in and hold on, this may last for a week or two, but hopefully not for much longer.
