Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 9th February, 2016

Today's weather;

It's still very cloudy and grey over Koh Samui this morning, just like previous days but the wind has reduced in strength and although you can feel the rain in the air, it should stay dry. Current temp at 7am is 26C

Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 9th February, 2016

Samui Chinatown at Central shopping mall in Chaweng is for one week offering and showing Chinese New Year related events. This is a mini musical 'Mulan' by a dance troupe, the children loved it, our three year old watched the whole performance with a hand for her mouth, it must have been really exciting for her

Yesterday was grey and cloudy almost all day long, with a strong wind blowing over the island. The wind made it rather feel cold. The air felt wet and rain was in the air but it remained dry. Max temp reached 29C

The forecast predicts more cloudy skis until the weekend when it should clear up and the sun should come out again. Next week Wednesday may see a surge in the wind strength again.

Hi Christian,

Right now the wind is just about to lay down and the general beach conditions should improve all around the island. Give it one or two more days to settle down.
You may want to try Choengmon beach maybe, a bit further up North.

Hi, thanks for quick answer.
In the northen end of chaweng there is an island 500m out and for what i can see there are some beaches, do you have any experience of these?

Hi Christian,

That's Koh Matlang and is privately owned, it's not open to public as far as I know.

Hi

We are coming on 11th to 13th.
We had planned for kayaking and snorkeling on 12th fen. Please advice about the weather situation over there. Will snorkeling allowed on rainy days?
Is there any alternative ???

Thank you in advance
-V

Hi V,

The 12th may not be that sunny but it should be a dry day so I foresee no problem why you shouldn't go kayaking and snorkeling on the 12th February.
