Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 21st October, 2012

Here's a quick update to let you know that all is good and I'm back online. I arrived safely two days ago on Gili Air in Indonesia but since i arrived the internet was down until late this afternoon when it came back on again, slowly.

I've been busy in the meantime with a PADI IDC an diving and didn't have time to update until this late time today.

The weather is great here! Warm an sunny although there's a very strong wind this evening. We're at the start of the rainy season though and rain could be ours anytime. Current temp at 10pm is 26C

Gili Air harbor,

Gili Air harbor yesterday morning

Yesterday was also nice, sunny and warm. Unfortunately I haven't had contact with home on Koh Samui yet! It looked nice and sunny tough today with a current temp at 7pm of 28C and yesterday saw a max temp of 30.8C

The forecast predicts kind of a freak storm Tuesday afternoon and evening around Samui with plenty of rain but straight after that it should be nice and dry again.

Don't forget to use my Camille's Samui hotel recommendation blog and my Camille's Thailand hotel recommendation blog for all your hotel bookings on Koh Samui and around Thailand. By doing so, you will support my blog. Thanks folks!

Hi Camille,
my name is Chris, I'm visiting Cambodia and Thailand form Oct 31-nov 13th. We're thinking of ending our journey on Koh Samui Oct 9-13th. I found your very helpful blog online. Thanks for your time and effort.
I noticed you said it is the beginning of the rainy season. Is it NOT a good time to visit Samui? Should I think of another destination? I don't need constant sun every day, but certainly don't want to spend three days in my hotel.

thanks so much!

Hi Chris,

If you don’t book a room in advance, keep an eye out on the weather conditions and make a decision on where to go in Thailand at the last minute. Statistically the Phuket side has better weather conditions during that period compared to Samui. In the wort case you do end up with rain every day on Samui.

Hope this helps.
