Welcome to may 2011

Welcome to may 2011

It's time to welcome another month, May 2011. A little bit later than usual, but work and limited internet connection on Gili Air in Indonesia where I am right now didn't allow to post until now.

Usually May is a bit of a mixed bag, plenty of sunshine but also rain and sometimes even some storms. This year the start is very promising though with nice, sunny days. Hopefully we can keep this going for the remainder of the month.

If you're planning to visit Samui in the near future, don't forget to visit my Koh Samui hotel recommendation blog or my Thailand hotel recommendation blog for your hotel bookings.

Hi Camille, Came across your blogg and wondered if I could ask your advise.
We have been to Thailand 3 times and visited Phi Phi, Bangkok and Phuket.
We were looking to return this July for a 2-3 week holiday and split our
time between Koh Samui and Phuket. How are things now in Koh
Samui.....friends have advised us against visiting due to flood damage.
Would you agree? We have always wanted to see Koh Samui. Look forward to
hearing from you. Kind regards Karen

Hi Karen,

Thanks for your message. Things are just fine on Samui and everything is since a few weeks already back to normal, nothing to see from the floods unless you live here and know what to look for! My advise is to just come down and enjoy Samui!

Please have a look at my archives, half way down the page on my Samui info and weather blog, left hand side, they go back 4 years. Open a month that you’re interested in and check one of the of the last posts of each month, starting with ‘Goodbye to…………’ this post will tell you the weather conditions for that month.
You can also check each individual post for that month if you wish to.

Hope this helps for now.
