Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 17th June, 2015

Silver beach in Lamai yesterday, nice and quiet

Yesterday saw all day long a cloudy day with a very light rain shower towards the end of the daylight day. Max temp reached 30.5C

The forecast predicts hard win and some rain later during the afternoon and evening and come Friday it should be less cloudy, Chances of tropical showers are still abound all the time throughout June.

Hey Camille,

very useful blog :)

I'm coming to Koh Samui (Chaweng beach area) around 10th of July and will be there for a full month. Now, I've been looking at some weather websites (like Accuweather) and they predict a lot of rain and thunder in July, see it here:
http://www.accuweather.com/en/th/ko-samui/5470/july-weather/5470

I know it's hard to predict weather full month before, but I'm coming in July/August because it's usually very sunny in Koh Samui this time of year, as I know it, with a small rain here and there. But what I see on Accuweather doesn't look like pretty weather to me, more like disaster of a weather :((

So, do you have any kind of predictions and is Accuweather totally wrong or should I expect most of the rainy days in July/August? Is July/August usually sunny as I thought it is?

Thanks!

Nikola

Hi Nikola,

July can be a mixed bag, with everything thrown in, from sunny days to rain and even a storm can pass by. However, in general, later in the month, towards August, the weather seems to improve.
It's difficult to predict weather patterns a month in advance.

You can get an idea how the last 7 or 8 July's were by doing the following; Please have a look at my archives, halfway down the page on my Samui info and weather blog, right hand side, they go back a few years. Open a month that you’re interested in and check one of the last posts of each month, starting with ‘Goodbye to…………’ this post will tell you the weather conditions for that month.
You can also check each individual post for that month if you wish to.

Hope this helps for now.
