Today's weather;

It's really early, 5.30am and I'm about ready to hit the road back home to Koh Samui. It's still pitch dark in Thailand but I will not really have time to give an update on the weather today. Lather this evening I will leave for Bangkok by plane from Samui airport. Current temp at 5am is around 26C

Yesterday was fairly cloudy with some light rain during the nigh around Samui with a max temp of 29C

The forecast predicts fairly cloudy but mostly dry weather for the next 7 days with some strong wind at times.

Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 15th January, 2014

Today's weather;

The sky over Koh Samui is mostly cloudy this morning. Current temp at 7am is around 26C

On Koh Lanta it's partially cloudy with a current temp at 7am of around 24C

Yesterday the current PADI IDC was completed and today the candidates are facing the first day of the PADI IE. Tomorrow will see the second and last day of those exams but I will leave very early in the morning, back home to Samui where I will board a plane to Bangkok during the early evening and I will have to transfer between the two Bangkok airports!

Yesterday saw a nice and warm day around Samui with a fairly strong breeze. During the early evening there were a few raindrops. Max temp reached 30C

The forecast predicts mostly cloudy skies with occasional sunshine but fairly strong winds.

It's partially cloudy on Koh Samui this morning with a little bit of sunshine. Current temp at 7am is 25.7C

On Koh Lanta the sun is rising in a near clear but slightly hazy sky. Current temp at 7am is 24.5C

Yesterday saw a bit of mixed bag around Samui, mostly cloudy skies with a bit of sun thrown in at times and some light rain at some parts of the island around 7pm. Max temp reached 30C

The forecast predicts in general slightly more cloudy skies and a stronger wind over the next 7 days around Koh Samui.

Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 13th January, 2014

Today's weather;

On Koh Samui the sun is just about to start heating up and will most likely evaporate the thin cloud layer that is still there. Current temp at 7am is 24.5C

On Koh Lanta, it's rather cloudy this morning, unlike the previous days that I was here. The sun is rising and do expect the cloud layer to disappear, at least most of it. Current temp at 7am is 25.1C

In Bangkok the announced shutdown of the city has started. Some areas have already been blocked last night. It's something I will follow with great interest since the early evening of 16th January, I will need to transfer from the Suvarnabhumi airport to the Don Muang airport, on my way to Gili Air in Indonesia.

Yesterday saw a cloudy morning around Samui but during the afternoon the clouds went away and it became sunny and hot with a max temp of 30C

The forecast shows today and tomorrow to be sunny before on Wednesday clouds roll in and the wind picks up but it should stay mostly dry.

Today's weather;

It's cloudy on Koh Samui and it looks like some rain might be on it's way although later during the day I expect it to clear up. Current temp at 7am is around 27C

On Koh Lanta we have a beautiful sunny morning, which is good, since we will be on the boat diving today. Current temp at 7am is around 26C

There was some strong wind last night but this morning it's nice and quiet and looking good.

Yesterday saw a cloudy day around Samui with a bit of rain during the daytime and during the night. Max temp still reached 30C

Samui Green Market, 25th January, 2014

The next Samui Green market will take place on January 25th from 9am until 2pm at Plu Chaweng. The market will be full of locally grown, locally sourced and locally made products.

Remember please bring your own shopping bags and vendors will use no plastic bags or polystyrene.

The idea is that the Samui Green market will be held on a monthly base and once enough demand is there, the frequency might go up.

Spark! Circus is coming to Koh Samui, 19th January 2014

There will be an amazing fire show spectacle and fun fundraiser on Samui by this super talented group of international volunteer performers.

Every year, Spark! Circus visits schools and orphanages all along the Thai-Burmese border to bring play, joy and creativity to children who have nothing.

This is their 9th year of activity.

While Burma is changing, for most of these refugees the changes have only brought more uncertainty, with funds and support drying up as organizations focus more on Burma and less on these camps. In reality, their lives are not changed…

Spark! volunteers are visiting Samui to share their story, perform a great show for us and raise more funds to be able to share more creative toys with the children they teach…

On Koh Lanta the sky is a little bit hazy but the sun will burn that away quickly. Current temp at 7am is 26C

Yesterday saw mostly a dark clouded day over Samui with a little bit of rain. Max temp reached around 30C

Koh Lanta has almost every day a beautiful nice morning and early afternoon with blue skies but during the late afternoon clouds tend to move in although it stays dry. 

The forecast predicts possibly some rain today and more sunny day for the next coming days with Tuesday or Wednesday the wind picking up a bit.

Koh Samui's sky is cloudy this morning and I expect it to stay that way for the remainder of the day. Current temp at 7am is 24.3C

On Koh Lanta, where we reached the half way mark of the current PADI IDC, it looks like a hot day in the making with a near perfect blue sky and a rising sun. Current temp at 7am is around 24C

Yesterday saw a mostly cloudy day but dry day over Koh Samui but it was very warm with a max temp of 32C

The forecast predicts a cloudy day today and some strong wind and possibly some rain tomorrow, followed by some sunny days until Wednesday when strong wind is expected again.
