Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 15th January – 21st January, 2018

For a change it is Sunday evening but still time for the Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 15th January – 21st January, 2018.
It's almost 9pm and already dark. About twelve hours later then usual you find this weekly weather update. It has been a busy day for me and our family, hence the late update. It's 23.9C and it's been cloudy all day long. Today's maximum temperature reached 31C and besides a small drizzle once, it stayed dry.

Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 15th January – 21st January, 2018; Sunrise over Koh Lanta last week

Last week saw a fairly nice week over Koh Samui, with mostly partially clouded skies and some sunshine and just two days of rain. One of these days was from Friday to Saturday and rained very hard during the night. Maximum temperatures ranged from 29C to 33C. January in full swing and overall the weather is improving.

Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 15th January – 21st January, 2018; A giant statue of a sail fish being caught by local fishermen at Ao Nang beach in Krabi province. After a few years I found myself back in Ao Nang for two days, the duration of a PADI IE (instructor exam for scuba instructors) which I visited with two of my PADI IDC candidates from the January PADI IDC on Koh Lanta.

The forecast for next week is looking good. From Wednesday onward a little bit of wind and occasionally the chance of a tropical shower. During the beginning of the week is the best time to see the sun come out and work on your tan.

Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break. If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course. You can also enjoy some of the trips I recommend, like a half day gourmet lunch and snorkeling trip at the Southern part of Koh Samui or a photography trip where you get to see the most photo genetic spots on the island or go for a drinks tasting tour if you like a tipple or two.
