This post is going to be about food, and lots of good food from Coast Beach Bar & Grill, Sunday brunch! For a sphere report on Coast Beach Bar & Grill, please check out the link and read my blog about Coast at Centara Grand Beach Resort in Chaweng.
The grill with lamb, beef, chicken and Thai sausages among others
The Coast Beach Bar & Grill, Sunday brunch is an event well worth checking out and hosted by the Executive Chef Luis Zamora and his team. It's held every first Sunday of the month from 11.30am to 15.30pm, with one of the highest quality buffets on the island. Here it's not about quantity but it's all about quality.
The bread corner with some amazing German bread and plenty of other options to choose from
Nicely tucked away in a corner you can find the grill, where juicy lamb chops, beef, chicken and Thai sausages are waiting for you to be grilled to perfection. As many and as much as you want. Maybe try out the Jack Daniels sauce to go with the grilled meats.
Grana Padano and Poiret de la Muese
Coast has four buildings, but most of the seating is outside. One of the buildings houses the bar, one buildings covers the salad bar, pizza corner and seafood bar and in the building next to it you can find an air conditioned seating area with tables and chairs.
Tallegio Giovanni Colombo, Manchego and Pecorino Romano cheeses
The building that I visited most was the building housing the cheeses and cold cuts (and it hosted also the bread and dessert corner). There were some fantastic cheeses and breads on display and I went for a series of fills from the well packed table. Especially the 'Poiret de la Muese' (a firm, chalky cheese matured in pear brandy and coated in ground walnuts) had me going back for few times.
The cold cuts
The cold cuts made their claim of fame on me, among others; Chorizo Extra Vila (a Spanish salami), Villani Salami Milano, Prosciutto di Parma and a Jamon Iberico de Bellola had me nibble a couple of times of them. As I said before, quality over quantity rules here!
The fresh seafood
Fancy Alaskan King crab, Tiger Prawns or Tasmanian Salmon? It's all there, for grabs, as much as you like or can eat. But go modest on all offers, so you can enjoy the wide variety of various meats, salads, fish and cheeses on offer!
French oysters, the smaller ones compared to the Thai over sized oysters, but oh so delicieux, those French oysters
Pizza on order
There's also a big salad bar, next to the pizza oven. Pizza's can be ordered and are delicious. Our son can testify to this.
Desert anybody?
If you still have space after this delicious buffet, you can opt for some desert that can hold their head high compared to all the other food on offer.
You can also use the other facilities of the hotel if you have the Coast Beach bar & Grill, Sunday brunch, which can come in handy when you take your children.
The bar has exclusive bottles, for Coast only, which may be well worth checking out!

We had a great afternoon and enjoyed everything the friendly staff, the delicious food, playing in the ocean and the pool and our children enjoyed playing in the children's room. A great way to while your Sunday afternoon away and this was one of my culinary highlights on the island.
