Goodbye to June 2019
It's almost the end of the month and time to say goodbye to June 2019. Yes, we have one more day to go, but today is as good as any to blog.
The weather during June 2019 was fairly good. Above average I would actually say. The last two weeks strong wind and lots of rain were predicted. However, each week this forecast got pushed back by a week. In return we had plenty of sunshine and warm days. Even days getting close to hot! It's 2pm right now and the current temperature is 34C.
Much better and a lot less rain compared to an average June.
Goodbye to June 2019
The newly constructed Nurul Hidayah mosque or Masjid in Bang Rak. It almost looks like a part o a temple or a big house. No towers like you normally see in a Masjid.
It was a good month for running though. 2nd June saw the Bangkok Airways Koh Samui half marathon. I placed 3rd in my age group. The weekend of 15th and 16th June saw respectively the Cancer Care run in Nathon and the Moon trail race on Koh Phangang. In the latter I won my age group.
Now, I was in training for the Samui Festival marathon come 15th September. Unfortunately for me, there will be no full marathon distance year. Half marathon, 10km and 5km races are scheduled.
I'm still in training, but now for a full marathon in Lansaka, near Nakhon Si Thammarat, come 8th September. A week earlier than planned.
Time to look forward to July. It may be slightly wetter and windier compared to June. But, wait, didn't I hear this already for the last two weeks?
Enjoy your time on Koh Samui and do go out and about if you're here!
Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break.
If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course.
You can also enjoy some of the trips I recommend, like a half day gourmet lunch and snorkeling trip at the Southern part of Koh Samui or a photography trip where you get to see the most photo genetic spots on the island or go for a drinks tasting tour if you like a tipple or two.
You may also opt for a very special dinner experience at The Thai Experience. Behind closed doors, reservation only and a very enjoyable and well worthwhile way of spending an evening on Samui. Authentic Thai food and a great atmosphere. Can highly recommend this experience.
Contact me for more detailed information on any of the options mentioned.
