Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 9th October, 2014

Today's weather;

It's cloudy around Koh Samui this morning but it looks like we may see some cloud cover breaks today and tomorrow and hopefully some sunshine again. Current temp at 7am is 24C

Yesterday saw a cloudy but mostly dry day with just an occasional shower. We had a power cut in  the Plai Laem area from 9am to almost 5pm. Max temp reached 32C

The forecast is looking good for today and tomorrow with sunshine predicted, some stronger wind over the weekend and a mixed bag after the weekend with some rain and some sunny moments.

Today's weather;

It's mostly clouds with a sporadic blue spot in the sky around Koh Samui this morning. Current temp at 7am is 26.5C

One more day at Silver Beach near Lamai yesterday. Shortly after the picture was taken it started to rain very hard

Yesterday saw a cloudy day with rain during the afternoon and evening. Max temp reached 31C

The forecast is showing a couple of days with a bit of sunshine until the weekend when cloud cover and rain take over again.

Today's weather;

It's cloudy and wet this morning around Koh Samui. There's a drizzle and it rained last night. Current temp at 7am is 25.6C

Guess where we were yesterday, conducting open water training dives for the current PADI IDC here on Koh Samui?

Yesterday was mostly cloudy with some rain during the afternoon and the night. Max temp reached 31C

The forecast looks a lot nicer again, the predicted storm wasn't have as bad or rather absent and the wind is drastically dropping and although it will not full on sunny days, a lot more sun and hopefully a lot less rain can be expected over the next seven days.

Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 6th October, 2014

Today's weather;

It's grey and it looks like rain although it's dry at the moment on our part of Koh Samui. Current temp at 7am is 27.4C

Every expat on Samui will know this crossing and where it's taken from, just outside of Nathon, the crossing to Immigration and Nathon hospital, taken in front of the Samui Immigration office

Yesterday saw a surprisingly fairly sunny morning and more clouds during the afternoon, but besides a drizzle at some stage, it stayed dry where I was. max temp reached 30.3C

The forecast has changed for the better, strong(ish) wind until Wednesday and a chance of rain with a lot less for the rest of the week and next weekend but an occasional shower may be possible.

Today's weather;

It's cloudy but dry this morning all around Koh Samui and I expect it to rain at some stage today. Current temp at 7am is 26.5C

Today it's one more week to go to the Mad Hatter run in Chaweng, next Sunday morning!

Yesterday saw sunshine again on the North Eastern part of the island during the morning and some dark clouds could be seen at Southern parts of the island. I only witnessed rain during the later afternoon but other parts of the island may have had more rain. Max temp reached 29.8C

The forecast strong wind this and next weekend and almost non stop rain every day for the next seven days.

Yesterday saw a surprisingly sunny morning at the North Eastern part of the island but during the afternoon there were a few small and few stronger showers. Other parts of the island had a lot more rain and dark cloud cover could be seen all day long. Max temp reached 32C

The forecast predicts strong wind over the weekend and Monday and most likely rain almost daily.

Today's weather;

There are plenty of clouds again this morning with a few, isolated blue spots over Koh Samui. Current temp at 7am is around 26C

Yesterday saw a lot of dark grey, heavy with rain clouds but surprisingly I saw just a tiny little of bit rain but there most certainly was rain at other parts of the island. Max temp reached 31C

The forecast has changed and unfortunately not for the better. Today and tomorrow lots of rain and hard wind are predicted, the wind drops off for a few days but rain might be here every day. It seems like a very early start of the rainy season.

Today's weather; 

Grey, rainy clouds are dominating the sky over Koh Samui this morning although are there still some blue patches to be seen. Current temp at 7am is 25.4C

Yesterday saw a cloudy day with a few sunshine moments and wherever I was on the island, it was dry except one short shower around 2pm. Max temp reached 31.5C

The forecast changed for the better again, now it's only strong wind over the weekend and fading out on Monday. Expect occasionally a shower over the next 7 days.

Welcome to October 2014

Welcome to this in-between month. In-between season, the start of the rainy season is imminent and can happen in October, although I don't have a recorded October like that since I started this blog, back in 2007. Last year was a rainy October and not as good as the previous 5 years.

Unfortunately the forecast for the next seven days is not looking too good, with stronger wind predicted and some showers here and there.

Spices at Hua Thanon market

This month will see two interesting events, 12th October will see the Mad Hatter charity run at Phru Chaweng or Chaweng lake over 10, 5 or 2km and 16-17 October will see the annual Rua Chak Phra event in Nathon, a spectacular and very typical Southern Thai tradition where the end of Buddhist Lent is celebrated.

Today's weather;

After having said 'Goodbye to September 2014', it's time for a new month.
The start is cloudy but the sun seems to be coming out of hiding around Koh Samui. Current temp at 7am is 25.7C

Yesterday saw a promising early start of the day with plenty of blue spots. However, by 9am the first shower came down and around the island, at various locations at various times, showers kept passing by. Max temp reached 32C

The forecast is not looking good anymore. Today may be the last day with sunshine, as of tomorrow, it may rain again and as of Friday a strong(er) wind will move in which lingers on all week.
