Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 30th April – 6th May 2018
Sunday morning with a nice partially clouded sky over Koh Samui in the early morning. It should stay nice and sunny all day long with possibly a thunderstorm and shower in the early evening. Current temperature at 9am is 30C. Get the sun lotion out but make sure it's not damaging the coral reefs around Koh Samui!
I'm in Krabi for the weekend and just completed the first of this years series of marathons and half marathons sponsored by Bangkok Airways. Don't forget the Samui half marathon come 10th June!
In Krabi it was a half marathon and I ran my second best time on a half ever in a 5'03 pace. It was 400 meters of the official distance, 20.7km in 1:44'37.2 but during the race I was not too bothered about that! It's a little bit cooler here compared to Samui with 28C at 9am and a blue sky. Yesterday at 5pm, when we arrived, it was pouring down with a black sky over Krabi!
In an hour or so we'll be on our way back to Samui again.
Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 30th April – 6th May 2018; View towards Big Buddha from Plai Laem, with a boat in the 'docks' being fixed up and getting a paint job done. All this under a nice blue sky, hot and steamy!
Last week things cooled down a bit after a couple of cloudy and rainy days. I enjoyed it, after the April heat but we had a few mini flash floods at the usual suspect spots. Nothing to get too excited about, it was all gone within minutes after the thunderstorms. The weekend showed some better weather again with sunny skies.
Maximum temperatures ranged between 31C and 33C
Koh Samui, Thailand weekly weather update; 30th April – 6th May 2018; It's all about elephants near Krabi's city pillar shrine and provincial hall, just outside of the tourist area.
The forecast for nest week predict a sunny Monday and Tuesday, so a nice start to the week. From Wednesday onward it may be cloudier with some thunderstorms thrown in at times for the remainder of the week.
Please do 'like' my Koh Samui blog Facebook page and enjoy the beaches around the island or in front of your hotel or resort and get some well deserved rest and a break. If you're done resting or need something else to do, there's plenty of things on offer on and around Koh Samui, you can go snorkeling or diving or take a dive course.
You can also enjoy some of the trips I recommend, like a half day gourmet lunch and snorkeling trip at the Southern part of Koh Samui or a photography trip where you get to see the most photo genetic spots on the island or go for a drinks tasting tour if you like a tipple or two.
