Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 6th December, 2010

Today's weather;

Samui is dry right now but lots of rain are supposed to come down during the day. Current temp at 7am is 24C

On Koh Lanta it's cloudy and also dry right now. Current temp at 7am is 24.9C

Lamai yesterday afternoon, boats will most likely be needed right now

Samui had rain yesterday and lots of it, Since 4pm until 6am this morning almost 170mm came down and I would expect a flash flood or two around the island. Max temp reached 29C

Koh Lanta had a dry day until around 4pm when it started to rain and drizzle a bit which seems to have carried during the night looking at the wet state of the road. Max temp reached 30C

  1. Dear Camille:
Sorry to bother you first. ^__^
I will visit the Chaweng district of the Samui in Jan, 2011. Would
you mind to tell me how about the weather is there? I am so appreciated for
you to reply me. Thanks first.

  2. Hi Dino,

The weather during January on Koh Samui should be really fine in general. Please have a loo at my archives which go back for 3 years, you can find them on the left hand of the page about in the middle.

    Hope this helps for now.

  3. Hi camille

Thanks for a good and helpful blog!

My boyfriend and I arrived at koh samui yesterday and the plan was to head
to koh phgnan tomorrow and then koh tao. Do you know how the weather is on
them islands? If it keeps raining like it does on koh samui at the moment
it might not be worth going out to the desert beaches on the other
islands.. Have you heard any predictions on how long the bad weather will
    continue out here?

    Many thanks,

    Kathrine

  4. Hi Kathrine,

The weather is very similar on both Koh Phangan and Koh Tao compared to Samui. However, after Wednesday the weather should improve according to the current predictions so let’s hope we had the last of this years monsoon rain.

    Hope this helps for now.

  5. Hi Camille,

we came from Ao Nang (where we enjoyed it very much) on Saturday afternoon and stay in Samui till Wednesday afternoon only. It seems that we have caught pretty bad weather. We wanted to take some snorkeling trip and to go to Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park but with this weather...

Do you think that tomorrow or on Wednesday in the morning will the weather be acceptable to go to a trip around the island?

And do you have an updated info about the mms of water that came down?

    Thank you, kind regards,

    Pavel

  6. Hi Pavel,

Right now I seriously doubt anybody will offer any trips for tomorrow. Wednesday may be a better option, the weather should mellow out.

The amount of rainfall is drastically decreasing but it's unfortunately still almost non stop rain.
