15th June, 2009

Today's weather;

A blue sky with a thin white haze is waking up Samui. It looks like the white haze won't be able to last very long once the sun starts blazing. Current temp at 7 am is 27.2C

Yesterday was hot and warm but around 7 pm there was some relief with a little bit of rain, not much but it cooled down a bit which was nice. Max temp reached 34C.

  1. Hi Camille

Still; unsure about where to stay - so much choice. Can you tell me, we're spending 12 days in koh Samui, any islands nearby worth a visit?
Im hoping to see some beautiful beaches, and Im not sure Chaweng itself offers that?

  2. Hi Adrianna,

Another nearby islands from Samui; if you look for nature and some 'roughness' Koh Phangan is your choice and it offers excellent resorts. If you're looking for diving and/or snorkeling, Koh Tao is your haven.

  3. Hi Camille

Where would you recommend for kayaking activity? As you told me
snorkelling is the best at Koh Tao & Koh Nang Yuan. Does it provide kayaking activity too? Thank you.

  4. Hi Celia,

To the best of my knowledge, Koh Tao does offer kayaking opportunities, sea kayaking around (or parts of) the island. On Koh Samui kayaking day trips are offered to the National Marine Park.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Hi Celia,

Never done it yet myself, but had only positive feedback from people who have done this.
The only 'downer' could be the short time spent there, 2 hours.

  7. Sorry Camille

One more question – beaches in samui, where is the best area to stay? Chaweng? Or Bo Phut? Or neither!

  8. Hi Adrianna,

My favorite beach is Choengmon although Bophud is a very good option as well and has nice things to offer.
